Rob is a speaker, consultant, and performer, with a background in academic research as well as theatre. His magic combines cognitive psychology with magical techniques into a truly unique performance. Rob can be seen in a variety of venues in British Columbia, from Vancouver to Whistler and throughout the Lower Mainland, where he is based in Coquitlam.
For nearly a decade Rob performed throughout England, including regular spots at the Magicians Showcase, The Illusioneer, and Craft Beer & Crafty Tricks at the Priory Arms. During his time in England, Rob conducted research on the psychology of magic, publishing several peer-reviewed articles and incorporating these insights into his performance. He became an Associate Member of the Inner Magic Circle, where for three years he hosted parlour shows and lead interactive tours of the museum as an assistant curator.
He returned to British Columbia in 2017, and is ready to share his astonishing performance throughout the Pacific Northwest. His performances are suitable for private bookings including banquets, parties, club meetings, gallery openings, and corporate events.
Additional Booking Notes
Rob needs to be clearly visible and audible for everyone in the audience. The magic performances require no special tech beyond that, though microphone amplification will be necessary if the venue is loud and the audience is larger than 20 people.
CORPORATE TALK: This requires a powerpoint projector and screen to be provided by the venue. Rob will bring everything else required.
Influences & Inspiration
Key influences on Rob's style of performance and love of magic include Derren Brown, Eugene Burger, Tony Eng, and Joe, the demonstrator at the magic shop on Vancouver's Granville Island. Rob is also an Associate of the Inner Magic Circle in London, England, where he learned an awful lot.
