Overview

Photography for Life | Travel | Commercial (and sometimes, pets)

I started in photography when I was just fourteen. I shoot in a photojournalistic, portraiture style. Photojournalistic means I work to capture the "moment”. Portraiture means that I focus on the people, faces, and expressions in that "moment”. This style adds a unique, unexpected charm to photos. I find the most meaningful images are those that capture the emotions and feelings of a moment in time.

“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”

— Elliott Erwitt

About

Husband and father of three grown children. Owner and Managing Director of a San Francisco-based digital content agency. Truck and car guy. Hiker. Walker. Runner. And generally enjoy spending as much time as I can outdoors. Photography is my creative outlet and allows me to share a more intimate part of my life and the world as I see it pass by each day.

Additional booking notes

I bring everything I need and nothing that I don't. Photography is an art form. It's not about how much equipment you have and how many people travel with you. It's just me. It's just my camera. And that's how we create and capture great moments.

Influences and inspiration

I appreciate all the greats who have come before and continue to create around me. I don't like to site influencers because that always leads to comparisons...or the occasional "I shoot like...so and so". Each photographer is a creator showing the world he or she sees around them. I'm solely influenced by the people, pets, scenes, or moments that I'm shooting.
