I am a singer/musician. I play and sing traditional country music, select contemporary country and easy listening pop rock music. I am a professional solo performer playing popular country music covers and my original published songs, expertly accompanied with my acoustic guitar, electric guitar and with professional/commercial and highly produced backing tracks. All my sound equipment is top notch and can accommodate both small and large venues. My musicianship and voice are exceptional in comparison to others in my genre. September 29, 2022Rickie joined us for our Cowboy Market at Copper Nickel Events. It was in combination for our Cowboy Hall of Fame later that evening. He is very professional, talented and engaged the crowd. It was the perfect music for our event and would highly suggest hiring him for any event!

The audience can expect to hear a well rehearsed, and comercially produced, complete country music sound experience. Rickie is a seasoned country music performer, using his talent to share his love for his favorite country songs. Rickie's voice is ideally suited for classic country music. His virtuosity on the acoustic guitar is evident as you see and hear him play along, in a non obtrusive and complimentary way, with the professionally produced backing tracks accompanying him. Unlike many of his contemporaries performing in our local venues; be prepared to be amazed by his unique abilities to give the audience 100% effort with each song performance. It will be evident to those watching how much he respectfully performs your favorite classic country hits from the likes of George Jones, Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard, Randy Travis, Ricky Van Shelton, Vince Gill, Ronnie Milsap, Charlie Rich, and Alan Jackson and George Strait. He will also be able to entertain those, who also enjoy the more contemporary hits, on today's top 40 country radio. He prefers to sing mid tempo to slow ballads that stir the emotion the way only this music he loves can. But be ready to get out on the dance floor to dance it up during his renditions of more raucous tunes.
Rickie Johnson was born in Missouri in the blue-collar world of St. Louis with parents who had a love and appreciation for country music.
His interest in music started early, hearing gospel, bluegrass and all his classic country music heroes on the radio. He awakened every morning, while preparing to walk to school, to the Grand Ole Opry TV broadcast. Musically Fed by his mother’s broad record collection and his father’s love for playing the guitar his interest was eagerly encouraged. The additional sounds of the 1960s and 1970s Motown and rock music radio of his teens has forged his ability to bring new life to his favorite classic country covers. He now plays and sings as a solo acoustic entertainer in small to medium venues near or around Salt Lake City, Utah.
