From Original to a wide variety of covers, Rheanna Downey performs as a solo artist as well as a duo(vocal/strings/lead guitar). She has toured across the globe and within her own United States, releasing one full length record and several smaller projects. Her style includes an original folk/soul/rock/country vibe that is perfect for any event. She has released original music on LA's indie Label, Cleopatra Records and has played many notable venues including San Diego's Belly Up, as well as gaining the attention of local radio stations.
Rheanna performed for our summer cocktail party and our guests really enjoyed her vocals and guitar work. Rheanna is a wonderful person to work with and very professional. June 2015
What a talent. She was wonderful as an instrumental performer for a celebration of life event. After the crowd loosened up we asked her to sing a few a songs. “Africa” “Some where over the rainbow” and “What a wonderful world”. It was already an emotional night, but in the clarity of the moment and the beauty of her voice, she had everyone in awe. What an experience. I’ve never really been around a genuine musical talent like this, and she really pulled everyone together in an ethereal way. Thank you, for soothing us. Thank you for showing up on time and being an absolute professional. 10/10 would recommend.
Response from Rheanna Downey:
Corbin, your party made it absolutely easy for me to give my best. Thanks for having me. It was a special night!!!
Fantastic singer, would love to book Rheanna for future events.
Rheanna arrived on time ready to go. Her voice was incredible; we had several people comment on the song and lyrics as she played the ukulele. It was a nice touch for a beach wedding and a couple who loves Hawaii. Highly recommend her and the Ukelele.
Rheanna was wonderful. Booked her for a one hour performance on my patio with an audience of 4 for my mom's 80 birthday. She was a pleasure to with it with lots of material to choose from. Her original songs were very good also. Will hire her again when the occasion arises!
I contacted Rheanna Downey 2 days prior to my brother-in-law's memorial/funeral service. She was amazing, considering that she had only 30 minutes to coordinate her songs with the priest. She performed "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace" beautifully. She made the memorial service very solemn. I would recommend her to anybody in a heart beat.
Rheanna, was easy to work with, very experienced. She has a lovely voice. Guests raved about her! Very pleasant, highly recommend for any event. I was very pleased with her performance on our wedding day.
You will not be sorry booking Rheanna. With her indefatigable passion for music, it is easy to see why she is so loved in San Diego. Her voice is like an angel and her aura of serenity makes it easy to enjoy her music.
This last March, my wife and I were thrilled to have Rheanna Downey play some special music during our wedding ceremony as well as during our wedding reception. Something important to know about Rheanna's repertoire is that it not only includes the many songs she has written but also includes a vast list of songs written by mainstream artists. A couple of my favorite cover songs that Rheanna performed during our reception are Sam Cooke's "You Send Me" and REM's "Man On The Moon". Rheanna has exceptional guitar playing skills as well as a distinct and beautiful singing voice that is not only rich and soothing, but also passionate. Rheanna also performs harmonies very well. Rheanna Downey is definitely a great pick not only for weddings and receptions but for a long list of other event functions. She is quite versatile and a pleasure to listen to!
When I found Rheanna online I was excited because we listened to some of her recordings online and they sounded great. I started emailing her and she was so easy going and understanding (I was super busy at the time and she worked with my schedule). I wanted her to feel out the guests and play what she thought would be best, the only song I requested was the one I wanted to walk down to. She sent me the sound bite of her playing it before the wedding and it was so beautiful! On the day of the wedding she did a wonderful job playing during the ceremony. Unfortunately me and my husband left to take our photos and didn't get to hear to much of her songs after that but everyone of our guest said that they were "blown away" and "surprised" and they absolutely loved her music. They said she played beautifully and sang perfectly. I am so happy that we went with Rheanna for our wedding. She really made our ceremony that much more beautiful and she really made our guest happy during the cocktail hour.
Westfield UTC hires Rheanna Downey for multiple events, from our year-round Plaza Unplugged acoustic music series to private cocktail parties to large conferences. Rheanna's style fits perfectly into our relaxed, retail "as resort" like feel of the shopping center and she is a crowd favorite. Rheanna is a pleasure to work with in that she is professional, honest, sweet, flexible and accommodating to our hectic scheduling! Rheanna's talent truly "wows" our customers and event attendees. We have received many compliments about Rheanna's performances.

What to Expect
Rheanna Downey plays a wide range of material from top 40, rock, country, blues, folk, 70's, 80's and 90's along with many standards as well as having a wealth of original material. She is a perfect fit for any event with high quality sound, acoustic arrangements and professional vocal talent. Rheanna can work solo, or as a duo with San Diego's Jasmine Commerce (vocal, violin, additional rhythm guitar) or professional Lead Guitarist Deane Cote. She has access to strings as well depending on the event.
Rheanna Downey’s primary strengths as a musician are her prolific, original songwriting and masterful guitar playing. People who stumble into one of her shows for the first time are instantly captivated, realizing that something unique and wonderful is occurring.
Rheanna was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her affinity for music began on the keys of a piano at the age of eight. By her tenth birthday she was writing songs. She picked up her first guitar at 13, and began playing shows professionally within two years. In her late teens, a move within California proved invaluable as the area’s local standout musicians further nurtured her emerging talent.
At 21, Rheanna moved to San Diego and began playing local venues such as Java Joe’s, a popular venue that gave artists like Jewel and Jason Mraz their professional starts. Since then, Rheanna has shared her gift with crowds across the globe, from Seattle to Stockholm. With several national tours under her belt, as well as 3 international tours (Italy, France, Sweden, Ireland, England, Scotland, Australia), it’s been an amazing ride so far.
Notable venues include the Belly Up Tavern in San Diego, the House of Blues’ Parish Room in Los Angeles, the Hotel Utah in San Francisco, the Bruxelles in Temple Bar of Dublin, Ireland, Princes St. Stage in Edinburgh, Scotland, and the Rails in Byron Bay, Australia.
Her veins are coursing with melody, and there’s no doubt among those who know her that Rheanna Downey is synonymous with deep, powerful music.
“I feel it is my obligation to give back to the world the depth of my experiences, hopes, and dreams in the form of music.”
