What to expect
A high energy band that provides entertainment in the form of "name that tune" and a sing-along quality with expert musicianship and professionalism. We fit well in Speakeasies, with burlesque and other entertainers, at birthday parties, for swing dance and other vintage-themed events, and at cocktail parties.
About
The Retro Remix Orchestra is a bright, fun, danceable, 9-piece big band lead by pianist and vocalist Lauren Lee. Originally hailing from St. Louis, MO, Lauren got her start in classical and contemporary classical music before moving to NYC. Since moving to the city 5 years ago, she's completed her Master of Music at NYU and begun her career as a formidable bandleader, composer/arranger, and side woman. The full band consists of piano/vocals, clarinet, two saxophones, two trumpets, trombone, bass, and (link hidden)e band specializes in gypsy/swing /blues renditions of pop tunes from the 80s and 90s.
Additional booking notes
A piano/keyboard is great, amp or house system, bass amp, vocal mic, drum set, mics for the wind instruments if the venue is very large. Piano, amps, and drum set can be brought by band if necessary.
