Overview

In my book, The One That Got Away, I tell the raw and unfiltered truth about life's challenges. I'm here to show your audience that their past doesn't define their future. I want every person in the room to walk out realizing that the things they survived are actually the things that will built their purpose.
*Resilience is not about getting back to normal; it is about becoming someone better than you were.
*Learning how to actually love the person within.
*Stepping off the hamster's wheel of their past; spending years running in circles, working hard but staying stuck in the same cycles of pain and what-ifs.
Let's stop the spinning and start walking towards purpose together.

About

Hi, I'm Jessica J. Wilson. I was born November 25, 1963, and adopted as an infant into a loving, church-going family in South Los Angeles. From the outside, life looked one way. On the inside, I was carrying things that took me decades to even name.
Life has not always been kind to me, and honestly, I wasn't always kind to myself either. I've walked through pain, heartbreak, and seasons where I didn't recognize the woman staring back at me in the mirror. I made mistakes. I carried shame. I ran from things I should have faced a long time ago.
But through it all — through every hard chapter and every moment I wanted to give up — faith kept finding me. And slowly, I began to understand that everything I had been through was not the end of my story. It was actually the making of it.
I wrote my memoir, The One That Got Away, because I needed the world to know that no matter what you have endured, what you have done, or what has been done to you — you are still here. And that means something.
I am not defined by my past. And neither are you.
