I enjoy playing all styles of music, ranging from smooth jazz, praise and worship, dance, latin, R&B, jazz, Christian, tejano and more. I have performed with several smooth jazz national recording artists, such as Vincent Ingala, Gregg Adams, Unam with Shannon Kennedy, Peter White, Elizabeth Mis, Tom Browne and Slimman. June 23, 2019My brother recently passed away and he loved playing the drums, so I wanted to have a drummer play some of his favorite songs during the services. So I searched online and found Rene the Drummer on GigSalad. He contacted me right away, we discussed the type of music we wanted him to play and gave him the list of songs we would be requesting during the services. The day of the services, Rene the Drummer showed up on time and was prepared to perform, and perform he did! He turned my vision of my brothers services into a reality and delivered the celebration of life we wanted our family and friends to remember about my brother. A native of San Antonio, I have 28 years of professional drumming experience. I've played with many local bands and have traveled to various parts of this great nation as a full-time musician. I've done studio work and provide private lessons as well. I studied at the University of Texas at San Antonio. So, reading music is one of my abilities. When hired for a job, I ask for a song list and/or mp3's of the songs to be performed for the gig. My expectations are to provide the best performance possible to the band's satisfaction.
