About
🎤 Artist Biography – Addi Self
Addi Self is a powerful voice in Afro Dancehall, known for blending street-wise lyrics with infectious rhythms and an unstoppable stage presence. Hailing from the vibrant communities of Ghana, Addi Self (real name Jafaro Mohammed) first rose to prominence as a core member of the Shatta Movement Empire before stepping out to shape a bold solo career.
Driven by passion and purpose, Addi Self's music explores themes of identity, struggle, resilience, and cultural pride. His sound is a fusion of Afrobeat, Reggae, and Dancehall, uniquely tailored with his sharp lyrical delivery and raw vocal tone. He’s best known for hit songs like “Edi Worhor,” “Corruption,” and most recently, “Zongoronto.”
“Zongoronto” is more than just a track—it’s a statement. Inspired by his roots in Ghana’s Zongo communities and his growing influence in Toronto, Canada, the song represents both his heritage and his global vision. As the centerpiece of his 2025 North American tour, which launched on June 24th, 2025, “Zongoronto” marks a powerful moment of cultural fusion, community appreciation, and international ambition.
Despite touring abroad, all bookings are handled with domestic rates, with no international travel expenses required from organizers. This flexibility ensures that clients across North America can access a world-class performance experience with ease and affordability.
From electrifying stage shows to thought-provoking music, Addi Self continues to rise as a leader in the new wave of Afro Dancehall—unapologetically authentic, globally relevant, and deeply connected to his roots.
