I'm an improvised one-man-show. I create full songs on the fly using my lightweight setup, no two performances are the same, and it ranges from funk to soul to blues to jazz to hip-hop to opera...and everything in-between. You never know what you're going to get, and neither do I! I love participating with my audience and allowing them to be part of the experience - there's no barrier between you and me, physical or otherwise. All in all it's a really good time!
NOTE: These performances are generally intended for adults...my language can be, shall we say, colorful. I am open to performing for younger audiences, though!
I saw Marc at The Twilite Lounge in Deep Ellum. He was playing from about 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM that evening. By the time I had arrived shortly after 7:30 PM, he appeared to have already started his performance. His setup was rather unassuming; a keyboard, a drum kit, a laptop, a microphone, and some rattle-like instruments were the things that caught my eye, along with a large plain banner with his name on it draped on the window behind him. He didn't take up much space at all, but man, did he make some noise--and although it was all completely improvised, it sounded very sharp and complex. In fact, if I hadn't been paying attention, I would've thought he was performing actual structured songs.
Throughout the night, Marc showcased his multiple talents; for one, he can sing very well. Additionally, he can beatbox, and he constructs melodies seamlessly on his keyboard. The best thing about his performances is that they're incredibly fun to both watch and listen to, because of how fascinating his creative process is. I'd definitely recommend booking him for events at bars or parties because of how energetic his performances are. I'm still shocked as to how he kept it up for the entire two-hour period, taking a short break once the whole night!

What to Expect
Expect the unexpected! I never know exactly what I'll do before I get on stage, so you and I are in it together! I can guarantee that you'll be highly entertained.
I've been playing piano since I was four years old, and this one-man-show is born from that.
I improvise original songs from scratch, live on stage, including drums, bass, keys, the whole nine yards - and then I improvise a melody on top of that, or a verse, or whatever comes to mind!
My show is almost entirely improvised, so you're never getting the same thing twice.

Influences & Inspiration
Reggie Watts is a huge influence. If you've seen his performances you can expect something in that wheelhouse.
I have my own portable PA system that works well for smaller venues, but I'd be happy to use your setup as well! I'm a pretty easy show-in-a-box.
The only thing I need from you is one outlet, and room for a small table.
