September 17, 2023We can’t say enough about our experience with Rebekah. She came to our home to play for a romantic evening and she exceeded all of our expectations. She was prompt, engaging and the sound brought tears to our eyes. Her set list was the perfect blend of selections that allowed us to dance, and the sound…so full and beautifully bold and wonderful. We were so honored to have her bless us with her talent. Would highly recommend Rebekah for any occasion small or large and can’t wait to have her again for future occasions!

I arrive 45min-1 hr before every event to chat with the event coordinator, warm up, etc. Although I am classically trained, songs I offer include classical, Christian, alt rock, pop, Disney, and others. I will send you my full song list to choose what songs you would like in advance. I play with amplification so I will need a chair, cover (if outdoors), and access to an outlet. I take one free request if given a month in advance, otherwise there may be an additional charge.
Rebekah Wilhelm is a cellist who grew up in Dayton, OH. During her time in Dayton, she taught a private studio and was very active at Wright State University where she attended for two years. She then continued her studies at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in cello performance. As an undergraduate, she won principal cellist of the University Symphony Orchestra and held the position of cellist in the Klinder Graduate String Quartet. She also taught at Athens Community Music School where her students ranged from ages 8-60. Rebekah has performed in various masterclasses including Keith Lockhart, Joel Smirnoff, Laura Metcalf, Craig Hultgren and Adriana Cantino. Rebekah finished her Masters degree in cello performance at Butler University in 2019 under Dr. William Grubb. She has since hiked the 2,200 mile Appalachian Trail and is now residing in her Batesville, Indiana with her new husband and puppy.
I play with an amp so I will need access to an outlet. I do have alternative options so if there is no outlet available, just ask. Please see my weather policy below:
Weather is an important topic as I play on a
delicate and expensive wooden instrument.
Damage from playing outdoors can be costly. To
avoid this, I will need access to a cover/shelter in
case of extreme sun or rain. Here is an outline of
my policy in regards to temperature:
Below 55°F: I will not play outdoors. I will play
indoors and amplification to the outdoor wedding
will need to be worked with the venue.
55-95°F: No issues!
Above 95°F: I will not play outdoors. I will play
indoors and amplification to the outdoor wedding
will need to be worked with the venue
