Rakhel Israel -Tankeu is a world-trained percussionist, drummer, and teaching artist based in Washington DC. She performs with the Malcolm X Drummers and Dancers and tours nationally sharing West African, Congolese & Latin American rhythms. A skilled player on djembe, dundun, congas, timbales & drum set, Rakhel brings energy to concerts, dance performances, plays, and theater shows. With a degree in Arts Education, she leads interactive drumming for children, schools & communities, and travels with her own drums for workshops, parties & drum circles that unite rhythm, culture & joy.
