Hello! PopCity Strings is a musical ensemble that provides fun and elegant renditions of Pop, Jazz, R&B, and old-school Rock. We have ensembles consisting of Solo Violin, Pop or Jazz Duos, Trios and Quartets! We have a unique sound that will leave your guests delighted!

PopCity Strings was the primary musical entertainment for a scholarship luncheon for a sorority event and we would 100% recommend them. Their services were professional and exactly what the event needed! PopCity Strings had a wide variety of musical selections crossing multiple genres available for selection. Mr. Russell did a fantastic job reading the room and playing the right music at the right time throughout the event. He played Pop, R&B, Gospel, and Jazz! His was fully prepared for set-up, his communication prior and during the event was excellent, and the performance was phenomenal! We received many compliments throughout and after the event. I would highly recommend PopCity Strings to anyone looking for cover/violinist musical entertainment.

What to expect
If you book me as a Solo Violinist, I play the songs with a backing track. My violin is amplified.
The PopCity Strings Pop Duo consists of either Violin & Guitar combo, or Violin & Bass.
The PopCity Pop Trio consists of Violin, Guitar, and Cajon (a percussion instrument)
The PopCity Pop Quartet consists of Violin, Guitar, Bass, & Cajon.
If the occasion is large, (100+ people) we might build into the quote enhanced amplification. This would provide the best listening experience for your guests.
About
I was raised on the West Coast, but have lived in the DMV since the 90's. I'm classically trained but specialize in performing Jazz, Pop, R&B, and some Fiddle music. I've attended Peabody prep as a kid, Lawrence University Conservatory, and Berklee College of Music in Boston.
I have played with the Soulful Symphony under Darin Atwater, The Umoja String Quartet, and in recent years, Rockville Strings.
