October 28, 2025Yvonne was amazing! She filled in last-minute for my wife and I’s wedding with only a couple days of notice after our original poet had a family emergency. Her style was integral to the romantic ambience we wanted for our guests: an intimate dinner party for our friends and family.
So many of our guests gushed about how fun and special it was to have a poem written for them. Since Yvonne sent photos of all the poems, we got to share in our guests’ experiences the following morning! I was struck by Yvonne’s style — while the themes of the poems (love, family, relationships) were similar for many people, she was still able to create unique and personal poems that spoke to them and their experiences.

A typewriter poet will heighten the ambiance of any venue with an intellectual and romantic air. Guests will sit with me for about 10 minutes where I will have a short and thoughtful conversation with them about the topic or prompt of their choice, work on the poem on my typewriter on the spot, and then read the poem as part of a mini performance just for them. I package the poem in an elegant envelope that matches the event’s color palette. The guests get to take home a customized poem as a party favor that they will remember for a very long time.
Depending on the package, I will also present a framed pre-written poem for the bride and groom or event host and will personally read it to them to commemorate the special day.
Yvonne has been writing stories since she was 12 years old and aims to make poetry accessible and engaging in a world of instant digital communication. You can find her popping up at different markets and parties all over Southern California and scattering the world with wisdom that uplift spirits in the form of heartfelt poetry.
I prefer to be situated away from loud speakers or live music as I need to listen and speak to the guests at a comfortable volume.
