Pianist, guitarist, educator

Born in Gomel, Belarus, Yana's musical life began at birth as she was surrounded by music at family gatherings. She began formal studies on piano at age seven and began to play guitar at thirteen. A complete natural, she also joined a group playing blues and rock guitar while continuing her solfeggio studies and private classical piano at a traditional Russian music school. She later attended Minsk State Linguistic University.

Yana immigrated to the USA in 1999 and continued her Boogie-Woogie and Blues study with David Maxwell and explored Jazz with Harvey Diamond. She has fifteen years experience teaching and playing professionally in Boston.
