It is paramount as a singer to be able to trust your pianist and know that they will play good logical intros that leads your ear to what you need to sing, Helen is solid as a rock. I can trust her professionalism, she's extremely accommodating, a great sight reader, and a fantastic piano player. She is very in tune to my needs & to audiences and extremely supportive as a musician. I've attended some of Helen's own performances which are always great fun, & I really enjoy her original material, she’s a great songwriter too. She has a unique & powerful singing voice. I always enjoy having Hellen on the gig!!

She played background music at our wedding rehearsal dinner, the music for the wedding service itself, and then her and a full band did our reception which she fully organized. Her ability to adjust to what the atmosphere called for is impressive. Very organized and responsive. Not to mention a FANTASTIC musician and singer! Beautiful voice, great piano playing. I'm so grateful we could have such a wonderful musical atmosphere for all the facets of our wedding!

My parents were professional classical musicians and I grew up accompanying them or filling in for my Mom. I sung off and on in musicals and choirs, played viola in pit orchestras, but I was mainly a pianist. I started out at CSU Northridge, but ended up studying at a German Conservatory, Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Trossingen.
When I came back to the states to complete my master's degree, I kept finding myself drawn to gigs where I got to play pop, funk, then soul, then jazz and it just snowballed into classes at the Berkley Jazz School and gigging all over the SF Bay. In the middle of it, I started singing which launched me into even more performing and recording an album!
Very recently, I did a Make a Wish Concert with a great band for a kid (who's doing great now) who wanted heavy metal and I genuinely enjoyed the experience!
I love seeing how much happiness and meaning music gives to people. I've been so lucky to have played so many different genres in so many different settings. I love playing at events where I learn new music!
