Percussionist and Drummer

Michael is extremely enthusiastic and makes sure to put his all into whatever he does. He always shows up prepared and ready to go. Michael is always happy to share is music with other and to help creators realize their musical vision. Michael is extremely punctual with his time and makes sure that neither yours nor his time is wasted.

Michael Colbassani is a Florida based percussionist and music educator. Michael is currently studying music education at the University of Central Florida. At UCF Michael performs with a wide variety of ensembles including but not limited to: The UCF Percussion Ensemble , The UCF Symphony Orchestra, and The UCF Steel Band. At the University of Central Florida Michael Studies under the tutelage of many esteemed professors such as Thad Anderson , Jeff More , And Kirk Gay. Outside of academia Michael has received mentorship from renowned players such as Keiko Abe, John Shaw, John Lluvera , Joe Mcarthy, and Elanders Frazier.

In the Summer of 2022 Michael took on the challenge of marching a season of drum corps. Michael marched with Birmingham based Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps. There he toured nationally competing against other groups within the circuit. At the Closing of the season the group earned a 79.213 scoring , a corps record at the time.
