As an MC & comedian, Paul has hosted special events across the country to success, from livening up the traditional affair to bringing a unique comedy style to any event. Paul was a competitor in the world's largest movie trivia league, The Movie Trivia Schmoedown, and runs The Movie Guys (.net), focusing on movies & comedy, and is especially suited to hosting and moderating Q&As at film events

Paul is wonderful! We hired him for a dinner party trivia night, and he was fantastic from start to finish. He was responsive, easy to work with, and incredibly professional. His trivia rounds were fun, well-paced, and engaging, and he did a great job keeping our guests entertained throughout the evening. He brought a great energy to the event and made the night feel special. I would highly recommend him for any private event or party.

I hired Paul to run BINGO for my 40th birthday party and he went above and beyond! He was very collaborative, had great ideas, great communication and really made the party fun. He so flexible with timing and really created a fun energy for my guests. He had a great setup with sound effects and a mic and it really elevated the night. I would absolutely hire Paul again. This was a great experience!

This was my first time using gigsalad to find an entertainer and I didn't know what to expect. Paul was FABULOUS! He worked with our budget, adjusted his TV trivia game to fit the age group of our team, and made the night so memorable. He has a bright personality and my team members absolutely loved him. I would rate him higher than 5 Stars.

What to expect
In a night of Movie Guys trivia, the game breaks down like this:
Round 1 - 15 questions
Round 2 - Visual or game round
Round 3 - Audible round
Round 4 - 15 questions
Within this structure - anything goes! I can do general movie trivia, I can make it specific to a genre, actor, time period - literally ANYTHING goes.
The show usually runs from ninety minutes to two hours and even that is customizable.
I can further customize the game, weaving in trivia about companies in the spotlight and/or guests of honor and prizes can be determined based on the theme/topic/client of the event.
With events close to L.A. where I can travel by car, I can bring my own audio setup with mics, speakers and a laptop (to run the audio portions of the games).

PAUL PRESTON (Creator, Host): Paul has over twenty-five years of professional hosting experience for clients of all kinds. He is also the founder, owner and creator of The Movie Guys, Digital Mind Productions, award-winning short films, original commercials and an ungodly amount of TV pilots, music videos and more. Paul has trained and worked at The Second City in Toronto & Chicago and has performed 1000s of sketch and improv shows across the country. His nationally-toured comedy show, “Preston & Volpe” booked for 12+ years, writing brand-specific original comedy for special events. Paul has appeared on film & TV in shows like “General Hospital” and “No Ordinary Family” and is a SAG/AFTRA actor with several commercial and voice-over credits. I can provide lights for an extra fee, but it's best to hold the event in a well-lit area where I can be seen. I'll provide my own audio system, as necessary.
Travel and lodging costs that would occur with long-distance gigs will be determined on an as-booked basis.
