Paul Finley
Overview
Exquisite solo guitarist with almost 40 years professional experience. Wisconsin Conservatory of Music grad and former faculty, Paul's vast repertoire of styles and personable nature makes him great to work with. He sings as well and loves to interact with his audience. "Performances are a shared experience. As I play I ask myself; how can I best serve the situation at hand?"

May 6, 2026Played our Mom's Memorial
Paul was the consummate professional and accompanied beautifully a couple of songs we sang at our Mom's memorial service. He communicated appropriately before, showed up early, set up and was ready to go on time. I wouldn't hesitate to book Paul again, for any event/situation where a guitarist is needed.

Thank you again so much Kyle. It was beautiful to see you all honor your mom-I just liked witnessing it, let alone the playing role!

November 9, 2025Perfect addition for our Friendsgiving
Paul was AWESOME! He played beautiful guitar music throughout our dinner party, which set the mood for the event. He came early for set up, had all the equipment, and played throughout the entire evening. A few of my friends got his card for use him for their next events! Can’t wait to have him again!

July 22, 2025A Special Occasion
I hosted a 75th birthday celebration for my husband. He’s always enjoyed has played guitar for many years and I thought it’d be special to have a guitarist at the party. Paul Finley added so much to the event. He played a wide variety of music representing the decades and I realized his play list even honored the eclectic guests who were present. Paul arrived early, set up in a small space and needed no direction as the party commenced. Paul is a professional
musician who, I believe, would add much to any special occasion. For us, he made a special occasion a “great” occasion!

July 21, 2025Paul for Your Event
I’ve known Paul since the late 1980s and I couldn’t think of hiring anyone else to do our wedding ceremony music. Paul’s guitar and flute work is still talked about amongst our friends and family. I’ve seen Paul play with bands, solo instruments, and even play with Phil Keaggy. Paul is always entertaining and well worth hiring.
Hired as: Guitarist, Multi-Instrumentalist

It was an honor Vin to play for your wedding-and very memorable one at that thanks to Tux, the wedding crashing cat! It's always an honor to play and be invited into people's lives at these pivotal moments.

What to expect
Your first wishes for the music at your event will be the beautiful atmosphere it creates. From there, other factors come into play to treasure the moment the music is meant to serve. Believe me, you will want professionalism in many areas; from preparations to delivery, punctuality and reliable sound equipment, clear communications, the music you are looking for and a personable musician to deal with. I love to play, and play sensibly to what is happening in the room as the event progresses.
About
As you listen, Paul has the rare talent to draw your heart into the realm that guitar artistry creates. It compels you to respond with joy.
Guitar virtuoso Paul Finley is in truth a storyteller. His hands create places, characters and dreams. With 4 solo CD’s under his belt and a professional career spanning over 35 years he has become a Texas treasure. From 2002 to 2008 Paul toured worldwide with Austin based Spoken Groove, releasing another 5 CD’s with them. Paul is also a long time music educator. A graduate of the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, he has instructed private and group classes since 1986. His guitar clinics have been presented in the United States, England, Germany and Australia. A young Canadian boy named Justin Bieber was one of the many pupils Paul helped nurture along in their skills. Paul has studied with guitar legends Michael Hedges, Ben Verdery and a host of others.
Additional booking notes
Acoustic guitar rarely is loud enough by itself except in a concert hall setting with a captive audience. My PA equipment is more than adequate for a reception hall, patio area or space that would accommodate up to 300 people. You are more than welcome to use my system for announcements, roasts and toasts.
I will need electric outlets, no chair needed, I bring my own table as needed. An area to place equipment cases on site is a plus. A storeroom closet is ample enough. I do not carry a lighting system.
