Partoons: Caricatures by Don Landgren Jr.

I set up my easel so your guests, attendees or customers can gather and watch as the caricatures are drawn. Watching the creative process adds a fun level of entertainment as everyone jokes, laughs and comments.
I can draw 15 to 18 B&W single heads and bodies and 10-14 color single heads and bodies per hour. Younger children age 5 and under can reduce the number of caricatures per hour. I draw on 11" x 14" card stock and offer plastic sleeves to protect the finished caricature.
It's best have me come after the start of the party. I set up in a central location with access to a plug for my lights if its dark and I require two to three chairs.
For kids' parties, I gather all the kids, introduce myself and tell them my two rules, then start drawing. I encourage them to watch and usually let the person being drawn choose the next 'victim.' As long as there's someone to replace the next kid in the chair it moves along quickly and I can draw the higher number per hour.
I usually begin with a joke drawing to get the kids laughing and interacting. I sometimes I intersperse some other joke drawings depending on the conversations and banter of the kids.
All parties are different, but the kids especially the girls love it. There's usually some budding artists who will stand next to me the whole time enthralled with the process.

I've been entertaining guests at parties from my Worcester area base since 1998, and travel in a radius that covers Massachusetts (including Boston, Framingham, and Springfield) to New Hampshire to Rhode Island and Connecticut.

When I'm not sketching at parties, I also draw award-winning cartoons for Worcester Magazine, Worcester Business Journal and The Landmark. I have also won over 97 awards from various news organization for my current work for both the Worcester Telegram & Gazette and for The Landmark.

I am a member of the National Cartoonist Society (NCS), Association of American Editorial Cartoonists (AAEC) and the International Society of Caricature Artists (ISCA).

My cartoons have been published around the the United States and Iceland in many newspapers and magazines and in the yearly book series, "Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year."

I will need a 7' x 6' area, preferably away from speakers. three chairs and access to a plug for my lights.
