October 17, 2026We booked Ovation to play at our small (~20 guests) wedding ceremony. Of all the quartets we contacted in the Twin Cities area, we liked the diversity of their repertoire the most. We especially appreciated the inclusion of Joe Hisaishi/Studio Ghibli pieces, as well as a selection from the Skyrim soundtrack that they played during a handfasting ritual. Ovation also accepted one new piece at no additional charge; they gave a beautiful performance of one of my original compositions (neo-classical/post-minimalist with lots of ostinatos and polyrhythms, a la Philip Glass or Max Richter). Thank you for sharing your talents with us and lending magic and elegance to our wedding!

January 27, 2025Ovation String Quartet was able to customize based on our budget and we are so glad we booked the Ovation String Trio. The trio played contemporary pop and provided a great first impression for our Annual Awards Party for our employees. We received so many great compliments for the atmosphere the trio created. From a communication standpoint, they were prompt and had good follow up. They arrived on time and were professional. We would definitely book them again.

Price range: Starts at $175
At the event, we will arrive early, with plenty of time to be relaxed and ready to play. Upon arrival, I will meet and touch base with the officiant and/or coordinator, making sure that the details and cues are clear and understood by everyone. We dress and act professionally, and our goal is for everything to run smoothly and seamlessly. Our repertoire is extensive, but I also accommodate special requests. I love to arrange music for the string quartet, and because I am trained as both a classical and jazz/rock player, I have the skills to create interesting and appealing arrangements.
I have received two degrees in music - a Bachelors degree from Northwestern University and a Masters degree from DePaul University. Additionally, I studied jazz violin and play with a swing combo, and a contemporary church band. If you would like to hear me play live, I have regular ongoing opportunities at church services and venues where I perform. The other members of the quartet are also well-trained musicians, and we collectively have several degrees in music. Ovation String Quartet has been playing since the 90's, and has performed for hundreds of weddings.
