Oscar Dupree III - Saxophonist
Overview
I'm Oscar Dupree III, a tenor saxophonist with over 25 years on the horn.
A Houston native, I'm a graduate of Texas Southern University, where I performed with the jazz band and studied under professional saxophonist Horace Alexander Young. Through that mentorship, I was introduced to and performed with Kirk Whalum and Joe Sample.
My sound lives in the soulful traditions of gospel and R&B — the joy, the heartache, the groove that gets people moving. I've played a wide range of public and private events, including the national anthem for the Kansas City Royals and shows alongside award-winning artist Tony Terry.
Available for weddings, corporate events, worship services, and private parties.

October 8, 20265 Star Performance!!!
We hired Oscar to play at my mom's retirement party, and he was amazing! His set of R&B and jazz hits was perfect for the crowd and set a great mood all night. He was friendly and professional, and he dressed for the occasion. So many guests came up to compliment his playing. I'd absolutely hire him again and highly recommend him for any event!

August 31, 2026Absolutely Incredible – The Highlight of Our Baby Shower!
Oscar was absolutely incredible! We had him play at our baby shower and he truly made the celebration so special. I told him I wanted a mix of pop and house-style music, and he completely understood the vibe I was looking for. He was AMAZING!
Everyone loved him and kept asking me about him throughout the party. The music, the energy, and the atmosphere he created were perfect. He arrived on time, was very professional, and came completely prepared.
I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better saxophonist for such a special day. We absolutely loved having him and would 100% recommend Oscar for any event. He was definitely one of the highlights of our baby shower!
