Overview

Hello! I'm Shannon, a soprano soloist that performs opera, classical music, sacred music, broadway/musical theatre hits, gospel, spirituals, Disney songs, cultural music and more. I will work with you to develop a program that is customized to your preference. I've been asked to sing at weddings, funerals, parties and all kinds of special occasions. I'm close to downtown LA, so I will travel as far north as the San Fernando Valley, as far east as Fontana, and as far south as Newport Beach. Contact me today to talk about how we can make your event special.

* “An Exquisite Soprano Who Elevates Every Stage”

Shannon Martin is nothing short of mesmerizing. Her soprano soars with precision, richness, and commanding power, instantly arresting the room. What sets her apart is not just her vocal ability, but the emotional force she channels through every note—she doesn’t just sing, she transports. Shannon embodies the essence of true opera: discipline, drama, and undeniable star quality. A performance by her isn’t simply heard—it’s experienced and remembered.

What to expect

Let's set up a call to discuss your expectations and desired outcome. I am flexible regarding music selections; I can take requests or make recommendations. I can sing with a backing track or I can bring an accompanist if you prefer (I have a keyboard if a piano is not available). I can also provide audio equipment if need be for an additional charge.
I like to dress up for my performances and engage with the audience about the music I am singing, especially if it is opera. I like to explain what is happening in the scene, who is singing, and to whom she is singing. I even include translations, so people can understand what is being sung. I can also leave the explanations & translations out if you don't want me to include them.

About

I have a Chemical Engineering degree from MIT as well as a Music Minor in vocal performance and an MBA. I am passionate about opera, but I sing a variety of music including Operetta, Zarzuela, Classical, Baroque, Gospel, Negro Spirituals, Broadway Standards, Disney Princess Songs etc. I have sung on National Television twice and won the Showtime at the Apollo Amateur Night singing opera. My voice has been classified as a dramatic soprano, but I have many lyric arias in my repertoire as well. I've performed as a soloist with the MIT Gilbert & Sullivan Players, Santa Monica College Opera Guild and the Louisiana Choral Foundation. Currently, I sing with LA Opera Connect's Zarzuela Project.
