About
I’m Michael Anderson, a Twin Cities saxophonist and the performer behind One Man, One Sax. I earned a music performance degree from Millikin University and also perform with Good For Gary. My solo sets draw from jazz, soul, R&B, rock, and pop, with the music shaped around the room and the people in it.
Additional booking notes
I bring my Bose sound system, saxophone microphone, and backing tracks. Please let me know in advance about outdoor conditions, venue sound limits, or any shared sound setup.

Influences and inspiration
My saxophone sets are inspired by the smooth jazz of Grover Washington Jr., the swing of Duke Ellington, and the soulful grooves of Stevie Wonder and Bill Withers. I also draw from the melodic sax playing of David Sanborn, Kirk Whalum, and Gerald Albright, and the way Maceo Parker brings funk to the horn.
