Old Fart Magic
Overview
I create unforgettable close-up magic experiences where guests don’t just watch the magic, they become part of it. Using everyday objects, humor, psychology, and impossible illusions performed inches away from your guests, I help turn ordinary gatherings into conversations people remember long after the event ends. My performances are designed to break the ice, energize conversations, and create those ‘HOW did he do that?’ moments guests talk about the rest of the night.
My background is a little unusual — I’m a Marine Corps veteran, retired commercial pilot and Kenpo Karate Sensei.
But above everything else, I genuinely love performing magic and creating moments people never forget.

April 8, 2026A Fun Show!
He was an absolute delight. Showed up early, very polite. I booked him for my girlfriend's birthday party; there were about 15 of us. He lit up the room with his magic and his stories. 10/10 recommended for parties.

What to expect
Expect highly interactive close-up and walk-around magic performed right alongside your guests using everyday objects that suddenly become impossible to explain.
The best part of close-up magic is that it happens up close and personal — not from a distant stage. Guests don’t just watch the magic, they become part of it. Reactions often range from laughter and disbelief to the occasional “Wait… do that again!”
My performances include audience participation, predictions, challenges, imagination effects, card magic, and interactive routines designed to create memorable moments people talk about long after the event ends.
I’ve performed everywhere from living rooms, backyards, kitchens, and hotel suites to conventions, festivals, retirement communities, corporate gatherings, expos, hospitality events, and after-hours parties. Every audience is different, so every performance naturally develops its own personality and energy.
Most performances are about an hour long, although I also provide extended walk-around entertainment for conventions, networking events, trade shows, and all-day functions. I work closely with event planners to structure performances around the flow and atmosphere of the event.
Despite the name “Old Fart Magic,” the performances are polished, professional, lighthearted, and designed to help guests relax, laugh, interact, and enjoy the moment together.
Outside of magic, I’m a Marine Corps veteran, retired commercial pilot from Hawaii, and Kenpo Karate Sensei. After traveling extensively and meeting people from all walks of life, one thing has become very clear to me: people genuinely appreciate opportunities to forget stress for a while, connect with others, and experience something unforgettable together.
About
Old Fart Magic specializes in interactive close-up and walk-around magic designed to bring people together, spark conversations, and create unforgettable moments at corporate events, private parties, festivals, conventions, retirement communities, and special occasions of all kinds.
What makes close-up magic so memorable is that it doesn’t happen “on stage.” It happens right in your guests’ hands, inches from their eyes, using everyday objects that suddenly become impossible to explain. The reactions are real, personal, and often hilarious.
My journey into magic started years ago performing impromptu effects for family, friends, coworkers, and even strangers who gathered around during casual street performances. What began as a passion quickly became something bigger after seeing how deeply people connected through laughter, amazement, and shared experiences.
Since then, I’ve performed in living rooms, backyards, corporate environments, conventions, assisted living facilities, festivals, hotel events, and more. Every audience is different, which is exactly what keeps the experience exciting.
Despite the name “Old Fart Magic,” the performances are polished, professional, highly interactive, and designed for audiences of all ages. The humor is lighthearted, the magic is personal, and audience participation is always encouraged.
Outside of magic, I’m a Marine Corps veteran (MOS 2639), retired commercial pilot from Hawaii, and Kenpo Karate Sensei. Those experiences taught me discipline, communication, adaptability, and perhaps most importantly — how to connect with people from all walks of life.
At the end of the day, people may not remember every card or coin trick they saw, but they absolutely remember how the experience made them feel. That’s the real magic.

Influences and inspiration
The very first magic show I ever saw was back in 1st grade, and while I was completely fascinated by it, I never imagined I’d someday be performing magic professionally myself.
Years later, mostly out of curiosity, I began studying and watching magicians online including Brian Brushwood, Oscar Owen, and Jay Sankey. What started as casual interest quickly turned into a genuine passion for the art, psychology, creativity, and audience interaction that make great magic so memorable.
At first, I performed for family and friends simply to share the fun and see their reactions. Before long, I started incorporating magic into business and sales presentations, where I discovered something surprising: magic has a unique way of breaking the ice, bringing people together, and creating instant connections.
The reactions were so overwhelmingly positive that I eventually decided to take the next step and begin performing professionally.
What I enjoy most isn’t just fooling people — it’s watching complete strangers laugh together, engage with one another, and experience that brief moment where the impossible suddenly feels real.
It’s been an incredible journey ever since.
