What to expect

When you come see us or book us we have everything that is needed to put on a country music experience for you. We provide a sound system, canopy if needed, and the sounds of pure country music. We dress appropriately for the occasion but occasion if it's very very hot we will wear shorts but most of the time a country look with jeans, button up shirts, cowboy hats, cowboy boots. The only thing that is truly needed is a reliable electrical source to power our equipment(110 volt outlet). We give you all classic country hits from the 1950's to 1990's and sometimes even earlier than 1950's. We don't have any lights or put on a light show we just use what is provided on site for lighting. The songs we play will bring nostalgia and memories from times passed. We can make you dance, laugh, love, and cry all in the same performance. We will arrive approximately 1 or 2 hours early to set up and wear normal comfortable clothes but then change into our performing outfits.

About

Odie And The Country Band is a traditional classic country band out of Hagerstown Maryland playing only country music from the 1950's to 1990's with an occasional Buddy Holly or the surf classic Wipeout thrown in. We love performing our classic traditional country music and want to bring back memories of the past. We are all about the music we dont have any gimmicks. We play true country music not what they call country today. Our lead singer and lead guitarist is Odie Palmer Jr. from Hagerstown who has been in country bands since the 70s and his dad even was the guitarist for the legendary Patsy Cline and also performed with Little Jimmy Dickens. Odie has also performed with Randy Travis and Mel Street. His favorite artist is Jim Reeves. Our bass guitarist and backup vocals is Bob Graver from Hagerstown Maryland who loves traditional country music and also does his research and tells everyone the backgrounds of the singers and songs we perform. He provides solid backup vocals and a steady rhythm on bass. He has had his own bands in the past but joined Odie And The Country Band in December 2024, he is also a social butterfly when out and about talking to the crowd. Back on the drums and the band leader is Mat Droneburg from Sharpsburg Maryland. He provides a solid beat you can tap your foot to and doesn't show off and let's the music stand out for itself. He does all the bookings, sets up the stage area, and whatever else needs done to put a show on for all the wonderful people out there. Also Mat's wife Teresa also helps with setting things up, selling our merchandise, and running around making adjustments during performances.

Additional booking notes

We provide a sound system so if you don't have one thats ok plus we prefer to use ours since we know the settings. If you do have a sound system and we need to provide a sound man then that will be an upcharged for the additional cost. We provide a canopy if needed we do not provide a stage but we do have a drum riser platform. We do need a good electrical outlet within 50 feet of where we will be performing. If you need to make any announcements feel free to let us know and you can use our microphone or if you have something written we can make the announcements for you. We do need a little bit of lighting no matter what it is as long as it's not completely pitch black we can perform as we have lights on our music stands. We also sell band mechandise at our shows.
