Obsidian is all about bringing the full restaurant experience to the comfort of your home! We provide table decor, dinnerware, and flatware. You and your guests will be allowed to taste your meal to see how the flavors are developed throughout the cooking process. You and your guests will also be able to ask questions or even glove up and participate! Not only is it a class and meal; it's an experience!
We are willing to travel outside of our stated 50mi radius under certain circumstances. Additional fees may be required to cover travel.
If you would like to hold an event in another area and/or have a party size larger than 8, please submit a detailed request and we will contact you ASAP.

All shopping will be done no more than 24hrs prior to your event to ensure freshness.
We will provide full table decor (tablecloth, placemats, and centerpieces)
We will provide dinnerware and flatware (plates, bowls, knives, spoons, and forks)
During meal-prep, you and your guests will be allowed to ask as many questions as you want and even grab a cut-resistant glove and help with prep!
Your kitchen will be fully cleaned before our departure.
The idea of running a full-fledged business has always been a constant thought of ours. Between the two of us, we have over 25 years of combined food and service industry experience. We've done everything from wash dishes to manage entire stores. Finally, after years of being overlooked for positions that would inch us closer to the American Dream, we decided to take matters into our own hands and bring our experience to your front door!
With Obsidian Catering, you will have the option for standard drop-off catering (coming soon), but the real treat is pulling up a seat and watching every aspect of your meal be prepared right in front of you. You'll get to witness first-hand everything that goes into meal prep and the cooking process itself. All of the chopping, slicing, dicing, chiffonading, sauteeing, baking. and grilling associated with your particular meal choice will be on full display. You can either choose to ask questions from the sidelines or throw on a cutting glove and jump into the fray! We only use fresh ingredients. No canned or previously frozen items will ever make their way onto your plate!
And the best part? You don't have to leave your house! No socks, no shoes, no problem! You are well within your rights to enjoy one of, if not the best meal you've had in your life while still in your PJs! Or you can make it a formal event and compete for best-dressed of the evening! Whatever the setting, whatever the occasion, Obsidian Catering has you covered!
The Private Chef service deposit is $40/60 per person. You can reserve seating for up to 8 people. Your reservation time is the time that you would like dinner service to begin. We will arrive 2-4 hours before that time, depending on the size of your party, to set the tables and prepare the food. If you would like to use your own decor, please let us know in advance. Guests that arrive early are more than welcome to watch and participate in the food prep!
For Standard In-Home Service, you will be allowed to pick up to 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert.
For Chef's Specials, everyone will be given the same entree. However, you will still be allowed to pick up to 2 appetizers and 1 dessert. Service will take roughly 2hrs to complete. Not including time spent prepping before or cleaning afterward. If you do not choose to pay for your meal now, your remaining balance will be $40 per guest and will be due at the end of service.
All prepared/cooked leftovers are yours to keep!
Your deposit covers the cost of the food, storage, and gas. Deposits will only be refundable if your event is canceled at least 48hrs prior to the scheduled date. (i.e if your event is on 7/15/19, you should cancel by 7/13/19). Unforeseen catastrophic circumstances (i.e death in the family) will be eligible for full deposit refund if proof of said event can be obtained. Refunds will be issued within 7 business days.
Food may be purchased and stored for up to 24hrs before your event. To be eligible for service, your kitchen and dining area MUST be cleaned before we arrive. Your entire range (stove and oven) must also be fully functional.
Your kitchen will be cleaned before we leave. Please allow up to 2 hours post-service for cleaning.
