About

Paul Macleish formed the band back in 2015. Originally the band was called 'Macgilliossa,' which is Scottish Gaelic, but after a while the band found that people were having trouble with the pronunciation of the name, so a change was needed.
In 2019 the band changed its name to 'North of Argyll.'
At first the band was a trio, playing in local pubs and clubs, and also playing small Celtic venues.
In 2019 they got the first large performance, when they played at the Dunedin Celtic festival in Dunedin, Florida.
In 2020 the band started to play festivals outside the state of Florida including, Virginia, Albuquerque, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Colorado,Arkansas and Tennessee.
In 2021 the band began branching, out playing Corporate Events in Florida. The band started working with several professional agencies, and still perform for private organizations throughout the USA.
In 2023 the band was featured on Glasgow Celtic Radio, in Glasgow, Scotland UK, as one of the up and coming Celtic bands in the USA.
North of Argyll, has two CDs which are available on itunes and Spotify, with another CD coming out in February 2026.
