Nordic Daughter is more than just a musical project it is an experience in variety, acceptance, love and accountability. The musical concepts behind the music build a sense of intimacy with the audience that can only be described as genuine and authentic. The vocal stylings of Melissa Lycan are unique yet classic and the songs she delivers are heart felt and blended.

The duet debuted in 2016 at the Oriental Theater. The first songs were produced in the KMG studio in Boulder, CO, and the band released the first EP “Forgotten” in 2017. A Sophmore Album "The Path"was right on it's heels in Nov 2018 both produced by Ahrue Luster and featuring Mia Asano on Violin. In 2020 Nordic Daughter released three singles all around the challenges we face as we go on our heroes journey! The 3rd album "Perceptions" released in September of 2023 was a compilation of singles produced primarily by Haven Yates. However during Covid the band recorded one single with Van Verhoeven called Same Dreams which is on the 3rd album. Now the incredible journey brings us to the Senior release. The 4th Album "Nordic Sun" was released with World Sound via Virgin Music in May 2025.

The band has performed with artists like Lita Ford, Trapt, Celtica Nova, Pictus, Hexxen, Cold, Stitched up Heart, Jack Russell and Great White, and Crimson Pirates. They have headlined festivals like Yule Viking Festival, Scandinavian Midsummer Festival, Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire, Pirate Viking Summer Festival, Cheyenne Celtic Festival, Colorado Medieval Festival, and are booked at All Hallows Medieval Fanatasy Faire and Boynton Beach Pirate Festival in October.

Nordic Daughter’s main focus is to tour the world teaching children how to write music as an outlet for their own voices. Interested in playing large benefit concerts, performing our fully Choreographed show for fans all over the world and giving as much of our hearts and minds to the planet as it can handle. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS. Purchaser shall provide at its cost the following:

Staging: Minimum 15 x 20 5 piece, 12x16 4 piece and smaller

Roofing/Grounding: stage must be covered rain or shine!

Electrical: 2 outlets 2 surge protectors

Instruments: We provide our own instruments, but need 2 Dynamic Mics for stage right and left that can be turned on and off on the mic for speaking in between songs, 6 DI inputs for Mics, violin, guitar, and bass plus 1 DI’s for keys and a stand for keys, if 5 piece and we provide a Power Conditioner to support grounding issues at the venues. We each have our own personal in ear systems that can run a patch out from the back of your monitors which you can then control just like your stage monitors we just turn down the stage monitor itself so all we hear are our in ears. It helps tremendously with our feedback due to competing frequency and really allows vocals, guitar and violin to stand out.

Sound: Wattage of sound system is up to festival wants and needs. Must have a professional sound engineer mixing front of house via our system or yours. Cost to bring a small PA and sound guy for up to 750 people TBD. We do not provide larger systems.

Lighting: 4 Movers moveable, Led Front and Rear Washes, Large Projector Screen and Projector rear Projection or over head only. Cost to bring our own TBD.

FX: Fog, Geysers may be added for performance aesthetic with a stomp box controller for the band to control. Cost if we provide TBD.
