Noodle (Musical Goofball)

Songs and musical games performed live with guitar accompaniment. Playful interaction with members of the audience, young and old.

No amplification needed for small rooms/groups in residential or intimate club settings (eg: living room, rec room). For larger venues/louder parties, portable sound system may be available at additional expense for transpo and setup.

ILENE WEISS (aka Noodle) is a respected singer/songwriter/guitarist/performer. Born in Philly, she's been based in the NYC metropolitan area since 1981. Ilene's diverse artistic background includes study at the Rhode Island School of Design as well as at Chicago's Second City. Ilene has performed throughout the US in clubs, theaters, coffeehouses, festivals, house concerts---venues where acoustic or "new folk" music has been welcomed by audiences small, medium and large. As a performer in MUNY (Music Under New York) Ilene played on subway platforms around NYC. A New York Times review of her (adult) variety show described her as “...inspiredly funny" "unusually vivid, sharply observant..." and "...a performer of songs that describe personal psychological states with an unblinking honesty, an impressive verbal precision and a careful attention to detail.” She has three recordings on Gadfly Records and has had songs covered by numerous other folk artists. She is also an alumna of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Writing Workshop.

"NOODLE" is Ilene Weiss' alter ego as a "family friendly" musical goofball. Music, humor and interactive responsiveness are Noodle's primary skill set.

She has a couple of other skills that can be offered for kids’ parties: face/hand painting, moments of magic a bit of balloon twisting. Primarily, Ilene-as-Noodle is an exceptionally solid songstress, skilled and sensitive to the diverse spectrum of kids’ (and people-in-general's) tastes, behaviors, moods and personalities.
