Kevin W. Campbell (aka NoirJente) is a resident of DeLand, FL and an accomplished writer, poet and spoken word artist. He is a published author whose work has appeared in many magazines, journals, and anthologies. He served as Poetry Slam Coordinator for the Florida State Poets Association from 2014 until 2024. He currently consults with the National Federation of State Poetry Societies and was one of the minds behind both the BlackBerry Peach Written and Spoken National Contest which began in 2017 and the BlackBerry Peach National Poetry Slam Competition which began in 2022. Mr. Campbell personally negotiated the entry of the NFSPS into the World Poetry Slam Organization and secured the United States hosting the World Poetry Slam Championship competitions in 2033. Mr. Campbell currently serves as Director of Mainstreet Art and Culture Slam of DeLand and as Vice-Chair of the African-American Museum of the Arts of DeLand. He has served as Slam Coordinator of Creative Happiness Institute since 2015, organizing monthly poetry slam events and open mics, some of them serving as qualifiers to national and regional poetry competitions and events. Mr. Campbell has lectured and held workshops at educational institutions on every level, including presentations at Stetson University, Bethune-Cookman University, and Beacon College.
