Overview
Nick is student of UNCG’s esteemed music school as a Vocal Performance major who has received training from Broadway veterans in styles such as musical theatre, opera, classical, pop, and rock. Through his work he brings not just a trained voice to a performance or gig, but a showmanship that can keep an audience engaged for hours on end. Nick has performed in punk rock bands, jazz ensembles, choirs, and professional theatre casts, so no matter what style a venue or client wishes for he will be happy and able to provide.

Not only does Nick Steigerwald have a beautiful voice and a natural gift and ease for performing, he is absolute joy to work with and have in the room. What to expect
When hiring Nick, expect fast paced high energy performance filled with character. Depending on the needs of the client, Nick can switch moods, energy, and even genre’s on a dime, keeping the audience completely engaged and constantly wondering what is going to come next. Audiences can expect shows filled with humor and interaction, as Nick has no trouble getting up close and personal with his viewers if it is what the venue calls for. When needed however, he has no problem with a calmer, slow, and even melancholic performance if that is what the client wishes for. When Nick gets hired for a performance, audiences should expect a dynamic, exciting, and touching performance that they will remember for years to come!
About
Nick has spent most of his life within the theater world. Having started at just eleven years old, he has been working with Theatrical groups all through out North Carolina as Lead Performer, Supporting Actor, and Ensemble Member, in community Theatre companies like Thalian Association, Big Dawg Productions, Panache Theatrical Productions and Performance Club, and professional Theatre and performance companies like Opera House Theatre Company, and the Greensboro Opera.
He has also worked with and performed at several churches, such as Wilmington Unity Church as a lead vocalist, and both Pleasant Garden Methodist Church and Greensboro First Baptist Church as Tenor Section Leader.
He is currently working on personal ventures, having recently started an experimental Punk Rock Band known as “Farrago”, that is currently performing though out Greensboro.

Nick has no major preferences for lighting, staging, or sound, and can adapt to just about any venue regardless of size or equipment. For larger performances, Nick requires a microphone and speaker to be provided by the venue. Other technical requirements may need discussion depending on the location, size, and performance style. Nick is happy to work with clients to create a setup that best fits their creative vision.

Set lists will be decided through discussion with the event planner and clients, with their being few limits to what songs he is open to perform.
Influences and inspiration
Nick is inspired by performers known for their enormous stage presence and powerful humor, but can also create art that forces the audience to think, such as Starkid Productions and their cast’s zany comedy, Josh Groban and his mastery over the voice, and Radiohead’s intense but ethereal lyrics. Through these influences, Nick is able to use his inspirations to make his performances reminiscent of performers you may have seen before, but still entirely his own.
