December 17, 2025Sweet Mermaid at Sleepy Hallow festival (July 19th)
We went to the Sleepy Hollow Mermaid Festival and met Lanai along with two other awesome mermaids, and honestly, she completely stole our hearts. My mom is 85 and absolutely obsessed with mermaids, so seeing her light up the moment she saw Lanai and her beautiful rainbow tail was everything!!.
Lanai was so warm and welcoming. She took her time answering questions, happily took photos with us, and never once made anyone feel rushed, even with a crowd around her. What really meant the most was how sweet she was with my mom. She gave her extra attention, hugs, and so much kindness, and you could tell it was genuine. My mom was smiling nonstop, and that alone made the whole day unforgettable for us.
Lanai was patient, playful, silly, and incredibly kind. You can tell she truly loves what she does and the people she meets. We are so grateful for such a special experience and truly hope to see her again next year!!

Andrea, oh my gosh, yes! I absolutely remember your mom, the adorable short Italian woman with the purple glasses and beautiful white hair, and your whole family too. She was truly one of the biggest highlights of the festival for me. Her joy and love for mermaids were so heartwarming, and those hugs meant more to me than I can even put into words.
As someone who has lost her mom, that moment felt incredibly special and full of love. Even though my Spanish was a little rusty, we still laughed and talked our way through it, and it was such a sweet connection. I hope I get to see all of you again very soon. Please tell your mom I will be saving extra hugs just for her the next time we meet!!!

I contacted and hired Mermaid Lanai and it was absolutely magical! Lanai was so enchanting and kept the children engaged throughout the entire party. The attention to detail was impeccable and the tail was stunning. The activities were so much fun and the children were thrilled to be a part of the experience, between the mermaid rides, she also would talk to and answer just about every questjon the kids ha. I would highly recommend Mermaid Lanai to anyone looking for an unforgettable event. Thank you for making my daughters mermaid dreams come true!

Rose Lanai was by far one of the sweetest mermaids I've ever met, she kept us in constant contact with us from day 1 to her arrival. She even helped with suggestions when we were setting up for Leah's swim party. The kids and parents absolutely loved her. She tired everyone out with swim games (which was helpful with 12 kids and sugar) and told them stories too. She's actually Ariel's cousin (as Leah tells me) We loved having her and her assistant and truly can't wait to work with her again! Thank you mrs. mermaid Lanai, you made our princess' day super extra special and Leah loves her glowy wish stone too!!

Lanai is truly a joy to have at any party, she and I spoke on the phone before anything while I was trying to decide what day to book the party and she was very flexible and accommodating and then the day of the party, she made sure that everybody was okay and happy too. very interactive! when it came to group photos, she made sure that she got separate family photos so we could have those memories and I just received my photos it's only been a few days and I am so happy with them!! Everyone is still talking about her :)

Both Mermaid Lanai and her friend Theta were amazing, clear and easy communication! They got here early and they set the ambiance for the party. Though it rained a bit, they still interacted with guests, and put on a "show" and even showes us a few of their skills. (Who knew mermaids can juggle?!) And those tails were spectacular!
These wonderful ladies were the stars of the event. This party is still being talked about even now. Thanks ladies can't wait to see you two again soon.

Influences and inspiration
The Weeki Wachee Mermaids have been a lasting inspiration in my work, especially in the way they bring storytelling, water performance, and imagination together in a way that feels real for children. That blend of artistry and wonder shaped how I approach every mermaid experience, not just as entertainment, but as a moment a child can truly believe in.
Over the years, working closely with children and animals in live settings has also deeply influenced how I show up in my work. It has taught me to slow down, pay attention to small cues, and meet each child where they are. Parents know this instinctively, every child responds differently, and sometimes the smallest moment of encouragement can completely change how confident or joyful they feel.
What I carry into every performance is a strong respect for childhood imagination. Children do not separate fantasy from feeling; they experience it fully. When they are met with patience, kindness, and genuine presence, even a simple interaction can become something they hold onto for years.
