If a client hired us, they’d get far more than just great music. We arrive early, fully prepared, and dressed appropriately for the occasion. Our setlists are customized to the client’s preferences—whether that’s elegant background jazz for a gala, upbeat swing and Latin grooves for a dance floor, or a concert-style show for a listening audience. We bring high-level musicianship, seamless communication, and a can-do attitude that makes working with us easy from first contact to final note.

Led by award-winning trumpeter and educator Larry Newman, the group features world-class players who have performed with legendary artists, toured internationally, and recorded for major films and television.

Our repertoire spans a wide variety of styles—swinging big band classics, smooth bossa novas, soulful ballads, Latin grooves, and contemporary jazz—tailored to fit any event. Whether you’re looking for sophisticated background ambiance or an electrifying main-stage performance, Newman Jazz Workshop delivers with style, energy, and professionalism.

Perfect for concerts, private parties, corporate events, weddings, and festivals, Newman Jazz Workshop is all about great music, great players, and creating a memorable atmosphere for you and your guests.

Additional booking notes

Newman Jazz Workshop is fully self-contained and can provide all necessary sound equipment for most events. We require only access to a standard power source and adequate space for the group to perform (size varies depending on ensemble configuration).

Sound: We supply our own professional PA system when needed. For larger events or venues with an in-house system, we can work directly with your sound engineer.

Lighting: Standard stage or ambient event lighting is sufficient; we do not require specialized lighting.

Staging: A level, stable surface is needed for setup. Ideal performance area is approximately 12' x 16' for a quintet, with additional space for larger ensembles.

Setup Time: Approximately 45–60 minutes prior to performance.

Breaks: For engagements longer than 90 minutes without intermission, short breaks will be scheduled.

We handle the details so you can focus on enjoying the music and your event.
