My Little Princess Events was founded by actor/writer Kirsty Provan in the Spring of 2012.

Wanting to combine the love she has for teaching young people with her extensive experience in theatre, this North Vancouver gal started her own princess party company, for everyone who still believes that the world can be changed with a bit of “faith, trust, and pixie dust.”
(J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan).

A past Pacific Theatre Apprentice and Studio 58 Graduate, Kirsty now works as a professional actor in both Film and Theatre in Vancouver. Teaching credits include Acting Programs at Pacific Theatre and Bard on the Beach, Voice and Movement at Trinity Western, and Speech and Voice at Viva Voce Speech Arts Studio.

"It’s funny, I can’t remember a time when I was specifically passionate about princess parties – for me, it was just about living in a world of make-believe. I was blessed to grow up in a home where stories were always being told. The Narnia Chronicles, Peter Pan, Winnie The Pooh, The Princess and the Goblin … my parents were always reading to us. TV was non-existent. My mum gave up her career to raise four children, and she was so present and active in our childhood – playing pirates in the garden, making spaceships out of cardboard boxes, collecting dust on our hands to rub onto jello to watch the mold grow … the list goes on. For me it was the love of imagination, the joy of creating new worlds and languages that stands out more than anything.

The name “My Little Princess” came from one of my favourite books by Frances Hodgson Burnett. In it she says, “I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren’t pretty, or smart, or young. They’re still princesses.”

I thought if I could show those children- the ones who don’t feel pretty, or smart, or young- how incredibly loved they are, then that would be a company worth starting. It seemed like a pretty good mandate."

We ask parents to provide snack/lunch, but we bring the rest, from the princess dresses to the music and speakers!
