I am a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter who would love to help you make the musical aspect of your event easy and well done! I have a wide range of originals, cover songs, and worship songs to choose from and generally play solo, singing while playing either a piano or acoustic guitar. If needed, I also have a PA system with speakers that I can bring with me to play for your event!
Phillip Vo is a 20 year-old, grassroots singer-songwriter in the veins of Ben Rector and Drew Holcomb, carefully crafting contemplative lyrics accompanied by understated piano and acoustic guitar. A college student based out of Mobile, AL, his musical start began in the church, singing and playing worship songs. Eventually, he developed a desire to write and sing songs of his own; a style of fun, pop music that was accessible and built on a foundation of faith.
In 2019, he started playing house shows all over the southeast, and undertook the task of writing as many songs as he could. He has consistently opened for singer-songwriter Jordy Searcy, and has played for audiences of 400 or more. After writing 100 songs in the summer of 2019, he decided on four to record with Nashville producers Quinn Redmond and Brian Wight. His first EP, “Sophomore Year” was released on May 1st, 2020, and can be described as introspective, lyric pop.
There is a distinct humanness about Phillip that is best experienced in person, face-to-face. His hope is that his music gives his audience something; a sense of hope, truth in a fresh way, or simply a melody that becomes a small part of their life. Phillip says, “My favorite part of music will always be the unique connection that is formed with the listener, through a song or through a conversation afterwards. That’s what makes music worth it.”
Generally it helps me to not have to bring my own, but I have a PA System available to bring with me including cables, a microphone, a soundboard, and speakers (in addition to a guitar and keyboard). Extension chords and power supplies are generally helpful though!
