What to expect

When an audience comes to see me perform, they’re not just witnessing choreography — they’re stepping into a full-bodied experience. My movement is rooted in emotion, storytelling, and musicality, blending technical precision with raw, expressive energy. Whether it’s a high-impact set, a soulful solo, or a collaborative piece, my performances are crafted to leave a lasting impression. I draw from a wide range of influences — including Afro, contemporary, and hiphop styles— and every piece is designed to evoke feeling, spark curiosity, and create connection. Expect intensity, vulnerability, and movement that speaks even when words can’t.

For clients, I offer more than just performance — I bring professionalism, artistry, and collaboration. Whether you're hiring me for a live show, music video, creative project, or private event, I come prepared to bring your vision to life with purpose and originality. My services include choreography, freestyle performance, creative direction, and movement consulting, all customized to fit the tone and goals of your project. I pride myself on being reliable, communicative, and creatively flexible — making sure every booking is handled with care, clarity, and creative integrity.

In every space I enter — whether a stage, set, or studio — I aim to make art that moves people. Literally and emotionally.

About

Zyyon Garcia is a dancer, choreographer, and performance artist based in New York known for her afro/ Caribbean style and freestyle movement. She was born in Atlanta, GA and has strong family roots in Trinidad & Tobago. Rooted in Caribbean styles, their movement is a powerful blend of fluid and strong movements, shaped by a deep love for both dance and visual storytelling.

Their journey began at the age of 17 in Minnesota, where I recognized my strong love for dance after decided to teach myself how to dance at home. Since then, Zyyon has trained in Contemporary, Ballet, Hip-Hop, and much more at CLI Conservatory in 2024/2025, honing a style that’s uniquely their own—fusing street dance with contemporary and Afrobeat with freestyle.

But dance is only one thread in Zyyon’s artistic identity. A lifelong lover of painting, drawing and acting, they often draw inspiration from color, human experience and creativity on a whole blending multiple mediums into their creative practice. This multidisciplinary approach gives their performances a sense of depth and texture that resonates with diverse audiences.

Throughout their career, Zyyon has performed at Orange Caribbean Heritage Festival, CLI Showcase, and danced in many films. She has worked with Jakevis Thomason, Martha Nichols, Jason Williams, and many other choreographers. Their choreography explores themes of identity, culture, and freedom, often inviting viewers into a space that feels raw, intimate, and immersive.

Off stage, Zyyon is passionate about teaching, fitness, and mental health using art as a tool for connection and empowerment. Their work reflects a life shaped by personal influence, culture, and a desire to tell stories that move beyond words.

Whether performing solo, collaborating with other artists, or crafting immersive dance pieces, Zyyon brings their full self to the floor—art in motion, heart on display.

Additional booking notes

I’m very flexible and easy to work with when it comes to technical setups — I don’t have many strict requirements and can adapt to a wide range of spaces and event formats. Whether it's a large stage, intimate venue, or unconventional setting, I bring full energy and presence to every performance.

That said, I do love working with intentional lighting and sound to elevate the mood and create a complete visual experience. Moody, dynamic, or playful lighting choices can add a powerful emotional layer to my performances and help draw the audience deeper into the moment. While not essential, thoughtful lighting definitely enhances the vibe I aim to bring.

In terms of sound, a clear and balanced audio setup is always appreciated — especially for music-driven sets — but I’m happy to work with the equipment available on site and will coordinate closely to ensure everything runs smoothly.

If you have a creative vision for staging, lights, or atmosphere, I’m all in. Collaboration is part of the process, and I’m open to working within whatever setup supports the energy and intention of the event.

Set list

As a movement artist, my set list varies depending on the event, mood, and creative direction — I don’t always perform to the same songs, as I like to tailor each performance to the energy of the space and audience. However, I typically dance to a mix of soulful, rhythmic, and atmospheric tracks, blending genres like R&B, alternative, hip-hop, Afrobeats, experimental, and electronic music.

I gravitate toward songs with strong emotional undertones, dynamic beats, and layered production — music that gives room for storytelling and improvisation. I’m also open to curating custom set lists for themed events, brand activations, or collaborations.

If needed, I can provide a sample set list upon request or build one that aligns with the tone of your event.

Influences and inspiration

My movement and creative style are shaped by a blend of powerful influences across dance, music, and visual art. I’m especially drawn to artists who use movement as a language — a way to tell stories, convey emotion, and break boundaries.

Les Twins have deeply influenced my approach to freestyle and performance — their control, musicality, and raw individuality constantly push the limits of what dance can communicate. Latrice Kabamba inspires me through her strong expression and fluid storytelling, reminding me how powerful subtle, intentional movement can be. Sean Lew’s choreography and artistic vision have shown me how dance can be cinematic, deeply personal, and beautifully abstract all at once.

Outside of dance, I’m also inspired by visual art, nature, mood, and movement in everyday life. I take cues from color, fashion, music, and emotion — anything that helps shape an experience beyond just steps.

At the core, I’m influenced by artists who are authentic, expressive, and unafraid to move differently.
