Greta Prince is a versatile vocalist hailing from Conyers, Georgia, with roots deeply planted in the soulful soil of the South. Singing since the age of five, Greta first took the stage in youth talent shows and quickly became a standout voice in school, church, and community choirs. Her natural talent and commanding presence soon led to solo performances at concerts, showcases, weddings, and special events.
A proud alumna of Winthrop University, Greta earned her bachelor's degree in music with a concentration in vocal performance. Versatile and vocally dynamic, Greta moves effortlessly between R&B, gospel, classical, and jazz-with a range that spans from rich tenor notes to soaring first soprano highs.
In 2011, Greta captured national attention as the winner of ESSENCE magazine's inaugural R&B Star competition, triumphing over hundreds of singers across the country. The win earned her a spotlight performance with the legendary Deniece Williams at the ESSENCE Music Festival in New Orleans, in front of more than 50,000 attendees. That same year, she released her debut single, "You Should Know," under the iconic Malaco Music Group label and was featured in ESSENCE magazine.
Today, Greta continues to electrify audiences across the greater Atlanta area and beyond-both as a solo artist and with her band, GP & Co., known for delivering rich blends of R&B, jazz, gospel, and pop. With a voice that commands attention and a passion that moves hearts, Greta Prince is an artist who continues to rise, inspire, and uplift through music.
