Youth motivational speaker Ms. Lesa has dedicated her life to doing one thing: inspiring teens through speaking on their level. She’s been a featured speaker at conferences and schools across Houston, appeared regularly on both television and radio, and established herself as a citywide youth speaker that students can trust. Her stories connect. Her lessons inspire. And her advice sticks.
Currently the President of the Girl Talkz, Incorporated, a young women's empowerment organization, Ms. Lesa is on a mission to empower and encourage our youth by combining heartfelt inspiration, relatable compassion, and practical strategies to drive change.
"Our youth are NOT lost-Simply Forgotten"
We employeed Lesa at the last minute to speak to a group of teens aging out of foster care. Lesa did an amazing job connecting with these ladies. She asked questions and it felt like a round table discussion. She asked about what they wanted out of life and then told them how to go about getting it. She gave these ladies something to look forward to in life. Additionally, her STORY was so inspiring!
There was not a dry eye in the room. Her story was so impactful! The girls were attentive the entire time. She not only motivated the girls but me as well! You are a diamond...you can't be broken! Thank you Ms Lisa!

What to Expect
You can expect, BARE, HARD Facts. The youth of today are sometimes pacified with words and actions. Ms. Lesa is old school and believes that the truth is the only way to relate to our youth. The reality is that more than 50% of Black males experienced intercourse by age 15....Who are they have having sex with??? Girlz!!! why you ask?
Poverty, low self-esteem & disconnected families! One by it self is not the reason, but yet a combination is lethal.
I am that RECONNECTION! I am the self esteem booster and I am the reality that you can get out of poverty!
Expect something powerful! Expect tears to be shed and hearts and minds to opened. Expect Change!
Ms. Lesa is a native Houstonian. Born out of Houston's "Third Ward", Ms Lesa was born to teen parents. She experienced many challenges in her youth life including molestation, depression, low self esteem, physical abuse, bullying and a host of other things. One thing Ms. Lesa remembers is she often thought, if only she would have known- Known about what options she had has a child, what options she had with her life- things would have been different. This is exemplified by the fact that once someone took the time to teach her, she began to excel. From GED to MBA, from working in a service industry to owning the industry! Ms. Lesa is no longer what society calls a "product of your environment". The same girl born to unwed teen parents, that died in the penitentiary walls of Texas, that were smothered by their dependency of crack cocaine, is the same girl that is locally known for her desire to inspire! Serving as the president of 2 Non Profit Organizations, The Chief Operations Officer of a corporation, a Real Estate mogul and a pillar in the South Union Community, it is safe to say, she beat the odds.
Ms Lesa is now driven to empower and encourage our young women that nothing is too hard...You are more than your past, you are more than your neighborhood, you are more than what your parents where and you are MORE than what you think you are! Ms. Lesa desires to teach her true meaning of being a WOMEN:
"When you’re a woman, you take responsibility for your life and for what you want from that life. You recognize the strengths that come with being a woman – your heart, your mind, and your body-and that being a woman means being strong, because you’ll need that strength and often times you'll need to share that strength with others!"
Additional Booking Notes
I only require that there is very little separation between me and the audience. I enjoy the up close and personal attribute of speaking.
Influences & Inspiration
Growing up in a inner city neighborhood and faced with many challenges, I was thought to be lost, unsalvageable. So I know what's it like to be written off and have to rewrite your own story. Success is obtainable -regardless to your history!
