Mrs. Sunshine Claus Storytelling

Mrs. Sunshine Claus should have a designated space to tell her holiday stories, a space out of the hubbub of the crowd. A carpet, small chairs and holiday props provide a nice defining space. She needs a microphone.
Mrs. Claus requires a parking space.
Mrs. Claus will arrive thirty minutes prior to the event start time.
Mrs. Claus needs a separate room to change into costume.
Mrs. Claus will:
Interact with Santa and other Christmas Performers at the event.
She will pose for photos.
She will mingle with guests.
When booked for longer venues, up to three hours, Mrs. Claus will perform stories for twenty minutes on/ twenty minutes off.
She will play her guitar and invite attendees to sing along with holiday songs.
She will engage the crowd in dancing and holiday chants.
She will help young children to feel comfortable visiting with Santa.
For home visits- Mrs. Santa will provide a family concert for up to one hour which include holiday stories, songs
Mrs. Santa can be available for tea parties, cookies baking events for small groups

Debra Weller is an seasoned Educator, Professional Storyteller and Mrs. Claus Performer. Debra plays the guitar and uses puppets in some of her performances. She began performing as a Storyteller in 1981 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. There she performed at local libraries, recreation departments, schools, festivals and events, including the Philadelphia Folk Festival. In 1986 she moved to Mission Viejo, California. In California, Debra taught kindergarten and transitional kindergarten at Bathgate Elementary School for twenty eight years. She was the Artist in Residence at the Getty Museum in (phone number hidden)9. Debra is a founding member of the South Coast Storytellers Guild of Orange County , California. She has led storytelling camps and after storytelling club for children for the past thirty years.

Debra loves performing. Her Mrs. Claus performances include working for Magical Events during the holiday season for the past fifteen years, performing at the Santa Ana Country Club and the Phoenix Club. She also worked as the Storyteller for the Christmas Season at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel, California for fifteen years.

Internationally,Debra has performed in Guangzhou, China, and Kinder Star School in Saigon, The Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh Scotland, and a school in Friesing, Germany. During the pandemic Debra taught workshops and performed for Early Childhood Development Foundation and Little League of Legends in India. She teaches online storytelling classes for Time After School. Magic Polygon App employs her talents for voices over on animated stories.

Debra is a published author and recently was filmed for an education series for Artful Storytelling to be used in the Long Beach Unified School District and Rancho Los Cerritos Historical Site.

In 2018 Debra moved to Florida and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Florida Storytelling Association. She has taken classes with Christmas Performers Workshop and is a member of Palm Tree Santas and the International Brotherhood of Bearded Santas.

Mrs. Santa require a microphone for venues with over 25 attendees, outdoor spaces, large commercial spaces
A designated space with a holiday setting and props is preferred.
Lighting is appropriate for the designated space or stage.
