You can expect me to show up 1-2 hours ahead of my scheduled start time to set up my top of the line audio equipment and sound check it well before any guests arrive. I may show up in sneakers and a t-shirt to set up but always dress in business casual/resort attire to perform, or maybe some cowboy boots and a hat if the event calls for it. After my stage is set I will likely disappear to do some vocal warmups and stretches and use the restroom before performing. If the event is 2-3 hours long I will likely only take 1 break for no more than 15 minutes. After my scheduled performance time I usually pack up in a timely fashion with a cart and one or two trips to my truck I am usually gone within an hour after thanking the host!

From the age of five, music has been a major part of Mike’s life, with piano lessons to self-taught guitar, percussion, and wind ensemble to writing and composing his own pieces. After a few years of college and a local reggae band experience in Phoenix, Mike worked as soloist onboard a Carnival Cruise Lines ship in the Bahamas for a few weeks which inspired him to make a living playing music. His first EP “Rest” was released in 2014 and soon after led to playing paid gigs, which turned into playing covers at bars, restaurants, resorts, and private events in the Phoenix area. Fast forward to today, Mike Maleckar can be found showcasing his talents regularly 6-8 times a week while holding true to his local claim to fame, “The Human Jukebox”.

For most gigs I usually only need a speaker or two and access to a grounded power outlet within 100 feet of my "Stage Area" which needs to be a dry flat space, preferably covered if outdoors. I do have everything needed to light up a stage area and the highest quality audio equipment for up to 350 guests. Anything more than that I would prefer to hire a sound engineer and rent some extra speakers. I have done this many times in the past and it is not a problem in the slightest, is just adds to the final cost.
