Moyralyn

Born in Toronto, raised in Simcoe County, Moyralyn grew up on the traditional sounds of country music and listening to her father play his flat top and pedal steel. Her brother played lead in their home town’s only rock band. Her mother’s cousins were Orville & Ronnie Prophet.

She started playing guitar in the early 80’s, wrote her first song in 1988. Began performing in 1988 taking chances at "open mic" nights at local bars, and in 1992, graduated to larger venues. Hired by Thorold Activities Group, Moyralyn played the annual Friday evening gig in the Red Barn at the Niagara Regional Exhibition in Welland. This became a lucrative annual affair, until 1998 and lead to performances at Canada Day events and Fairs throughout Niagara Region.
In 1994 Moyralyn was approached by a member of the Fonthill Kinsmen, to help get a 60's style Coffee House off the ground. A monthly venue that just closed its doors in November of 2012.

In 2003 Moyralyn moved to the USA and has sung at venues all around the Great Lakes from Michigan & Pennsylvania to Fredonia & Niagara Falls, NY. Moyralyn has recorded backup vocals with Ray Power and for Canadian songwriter Frank Dalton . Most recently has collaborated lyrically on a song with Lyle McClung (SimplyLyle) & Andrew Allison (Dog House Kitchen) of Louisville, KY. Andrew has also recorded several of Moyralyn’s songs.

Throughout the years Moyralyn was a regular singing original and cover songs at the Niagara Opry in Niagara Falls and the Sarnia Lambton Musician's Club, Ellery’s Studio Café in Battle Creek, MI, Webb’s Open Mic in Mayville, NY. Since moving back home to Canada in 2012, Moyralyn has opened for the March of Dimes; Rock For Dimes at Sherkston Shores 3 yrs in a row and most recently at Brownstones in Sarnia 2016.
