Mountain Sapphire Finally!

Overview

Mountain Sapphire is an Accoustic Duo featuring the music you grew up with. Excellent for dinner parties, lounge entertainment and special events, we cover popular songs (1960-present) with beautiful harmonies and keyboard and acoustic guitar.

We have our own sound equipment, all you need to do is provide the space and an ordinary wall outlet, we will do the rest.

You can customize the song list for your event. Want a special song? - we'll do our best.

Want us to break for presentations or make special announcements? No problem, just let us know what to expect and we will tailor the gig to your needs.

Thanks again for inviting us, Leanne. It was an impressive evening of generosity and human caring and it meant a lot to us to be part of it. We hope we can perform for you again some day. John & Rochelle

What to expect

We like to know the age range of the audience before we create our set list, that way we can add newer or older tunes as appropriate. If you have any songs that you would like included, mention them, and if we can, we will add them to the set list.
In general we do not play requests on the night.
It takes us about 20 minutes to set up and do a sound check. At the designated start time, we will start playing, unless you have announcements to make. Normally we will introduce ourselves after a few songs.
If the audience is attentive, we will provide a bit of banter, a few jokes and background on the songs. If the event requires background music, we will just play and sing.
If you want a break in the music to do announcements, we can pre-arrange it for a specific time, or you can just wave at us to take a break. If you are doing birthday announcements, we will play "Happy Birthday" after.
If you need to use our microphone, no problem - just be aware that the gain is low and you need to have the mic right in front of your face. This is deliberate - we don't want microphone feedback during setup or performance.
Need other arrangements? Just let us know and we will be happy to oblige.

About

Named after one of the rarest of gems, Mountain Sapphire has been entertaining audiences in and around Devon since 2015. Blending their voices into pleasing harmonies, Rochelle Sato on keyboard and John Atwood on 6- and 12-string guitar (and most recenly, the ukulele) have assembled a repertoire of more than 300 popular songs, ranging from the 1930's to present day. The duo has performed at various events in the area, including the Summer Games in Leduc, the Relay for Life in Red Deer, the Wetaskiwin Arts Festival, and the Devon Annual Christmas Party. Other appearances include the Carrot Café in Edmonton, Beans Café in Wetaskiwin, Jonathan’s Lounge in Leduc, Newcastle Pub and dinner concerts at the Roadhouse Grill in Devon. In addition to public performances, Mountain Sapphire provides music for Senior’s homes, Care Centres and Hospitals.

Additional booking notes

We require about 3m wide by 2m deep to properly arrange the speakers, keyboard, mic stand and music stand.
We require a single 110VAC outlet. For the normal PA system, power consumption is about 150 W. With the big PA (for large rooms or outoor), it will be about 1000 W.
The performance area should be well lit. If this is not the case, we need to set up reading lights.
