What to expect
We are a high energy band who likes to incorporate our music and the flow of our shows into every crowd. Our goal is to have everyone in the room leave feeling like they had a personal experience with all of us. Pulling our influences from soul, blues, bluegrass, jam bands, and rock n roll we bring something to the table for everyone in the audience.
About
It all started when Steve got his first guitar for high school graduation. Burt and Steve jammed that night by a fire and had the whole party screaming lyrics to every song. The two have played in bands together since that night in 2004.
The two of them were always really close with Tammy, as a matter of fact their entire group of friends have been really close with each other and remain that way to this day. Eventually they found out Tammy could sing, a secret she had kept from them for a long time.
Next came the Hammer. Burt met Matt Hamrick while working at a grocery store. "The dude looked like a love child of Mick Jagger and Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters, I knew he had to play something", said Burt. After Burt got Matt and Steve together the trio of brothers began.
Soon after the first installment of the band Tammy and the guys realized they were missing something. Experimenting in jams with Steve on the keys and guitar they invited long time friend Joe Renish up to jam. Once everyone heard him swing the bass line, the final lineup of Moonshine Social was set.
Ultimately the band can thank Tom Conlan for its existence. Tom was always a huge supporter and long time friend and even the father-in-law to one of the band members (Steve). He was and will forever be the biggest fan of this band. Tom asked them to play a benefit show for one of the many charities he worked with. Since Burt, Steve, Joe, and Matt all were not great singers and the recent discovery of Tammy's incredible voice had just surfaced the early stages of Moonshine Social was formed. After many different name changes it was decided one night while sippin' on shine and jamming to any song that came to mind Moonshine Social was born.
