First of all, congratulations, if you are checking me out you have probably just gotten engaged! Being an Officiate is my passion and has been since 1997. I specialize in Secular, Religious lite, Fun/funny, Reverent, Irreverent, Spiritual, Cultural, Formal, Informal and pretty much everything in between. I have no restrictions other than the legalities involved. If you can dream it up we can probably make it happen and even kick it up a bit more! No judgements here, this is your special day, not mine, you always maintain total control over what is said and done. Send me an email with the particulars of your special day and I'll be happy to send you my quote for services.

After meeting with you in person or via Skype, I craft a unique celebration for your special day. We work on it via email until you are 100% happy with the end result. I run your rehearsal (same day, no charge, different day, only my travel fee), officiate your wedding, sign your license and file it with the City Hall where you got it from so you can leave on your honeymoon safe in the knowledge you are legally married!
I have been officiating weddings, celebrations of life for humans and pets, baby ceremonies and corporate events since 1997. I love what I do and it shows in my reviews. I feel my job is to listen to what you would love to hear and see on your special day and try and make it even more memorable and personal for you. I specialize in mixed marriages of all kinds, same-sex, multi-cultural, and last minute, San Francisco City Hall is one block from me.
I adapt to all situations, with a mike, without one, inside, outside, formal, informal, cultural and religious traditions, secular or religious lite, choice of robe and stole or suit and tie to match your color scheme, insertion of languages spoken by your families, humor when appropriate, help with your gifts to each other (vows), advice on how to make your special day even more memorable, advice to start your new life off on the right foot, celebrating your traditions, your Mothers, creating new traditions, making all your guests feel welcome, and more... Officiating life's milestones is my passion, let me take your ideas and add some sizzle to ensure your guests will remember your special day fondly and forever!
For a wedding I typically advise a few things when choosing your music. First and foremost, choose your music keeping in mind that not everyone in your bridal party can keep a beat! Make walking down the aisle as easy as possible on your loved ones so avoid music with an ambiguous beat!
Have your background music for the gathering of your guests and a sign to them you are about to begin. Try and choose music that is great in the background and allows your guests to communicate with each other as to where they wish to sit and let the bridal party know it's time to begin.
Choose the groom's music with care, remember, many guys are not comfortable walking down an aisle alone or at all! Choose a song he or she knows well, likes and is long enough to accommodate your entire bridal party.
The bride's piece should be something that speaks to her. Having said that it should definitely be easy for her Father (or any escort/s) to walk to and try to choose music that you love, has a message and is not a piece you'd hear at any wedding, such as the wedding march, Pachebel in D or any over used piece. This is YOUR wedding, make it personal so that when you first hear it all you can do is smile!
Lastly, choose your recessional music for it's ability to get your guests jumping with joy, celebrating your special day and encouraging them to hoot and holler. After all, they're celebrating you!
Initially I was asked to officiate a commitment celebration between 2 friends who had both been married before and just wanted to celebrate their commitment to each other. That led to officiating the wedding of that couple's business partner's daughter and the rest, as they say, is history.
Most recently, the Supreme Court decision to recognize same-sex weddings.
A dear friend and grief counselor changed my thoughts and feelings around death and passing, into incredibly positive, respectful, honoring and moving celebration of life, instead of just grief & loss. This allows the family and friends to move on or past this inevitable milestone and understand the true meaning of loss, all the while honoring the deceased and their life. In fact, I've started to meet with terminally ill patients who wish to know and plan what will happen before and/or after their passing. This simple act is probably one of the most loving things someone can give their loved ones. It allows them to know what will be said and done and their families the freedom to grieve and celebrate their life without ever having to wonder what the deceased would have liked. Give the gift of planning to your loved ones, if at all possible.
Having presided now over a number of divorce celebrations I have created and continue to create unique ways to help one or both of the couple to move past this negative occurrence and move on with their lives in a healthy and positive manner.
Celebrating the life of a beloved pet is yet another way to help the surviving owner honor their lives and memories while allowing them to move past their grief and get on with their lives.
Welcoming and celebrating a new born baby into your family? Great! I've created quite a few ways to celebrate their birth, introduce them to your family and friends and make their arrival both personal, celebratory and official. Whether you seek a "hakunah matate" moment or a naming ceremony, I can create just the right tenor to welcome your newborn into your lives and those of your families and friends. After all, birth is just the other side of the coin from death, milestones in our lives are meant to be celebrated and not just in a religious framework.
After roasting a friend on his 40th birthday I received rave reviews for making my remarks both personal and funny. Needless to say, I was hooked! From respectful to irreverent, I will set just the right tone for this right of passage. After all, if you are being roasted you are probably very much loved by those celebrating your birth! Why not add some fun and humor to it as well? I can also M.C. your roast, meeting, convention, presentation or any other corporate event based on your exacting requirements.
So if you're feeling stuck, need a ceremony or celebration of your milestone to your family, friends or associates or would like a customized celebration for any milestone you are marking, I'm confident I'll be able to come up with just the right tenor for your event.
Thanks for reading and considering me for your special event, I'm honored, humbled and grateful!
