Mike catered to our son for his bday making him the star of the show but still included other kiddos. My son turned 5 and their attention spans didn’t last a whole hour but he was great!

Mike Raymer was a BIG HIT as the close up magician for 800 dads and daughters at the FCA Diamond Dance this past Saturday at Louisville Slugger Field! His table was always crowded with dads and daughters who were amazed by his magic and engaged by his charisma. Mike made this night more magical for everyone!!!

About
Mike Raymer’s journey in magic began as a child watching Louisville television magician Presto the Magic Clown. After receiving his first magic set and discovering the magic counter at Caufield’s Novelty Store, Mike began performing paid shows at age 13.
More than four decades later, Mike is a full-time professional magician who has entertained audiences throughout the region at private celebrations, corporate events, theaters, festivals, schools, libraries, churches, and community events.
Mike currently serves as First Vice President of the Society of American Magicians and is a Life Member of both the Society of American Magicians and the International Brotherhood of Magicians. He has served six terms as President of the Louisville Magic Club and spent seven years as editor of The Magic SYMbol, the international youth magazine of the Society of American Magicians.
Throughout his career, Mike has also been an educator, youth minister, business owner, and mentor to young magicians. Today, he continues teaching the next generation through private instruction, magic camps, and the Louisville Magic Academy.
Mike’s approach to magic has remained the same since his earliest performances: create joy, inspire wonder, and use magic to bring people together.

Mike provides clean, professional, interactive entertainment customized to fit your audience and event. A professional sound system and wireless microphone can be provided when needed.
Performances can be adapted for banquet rooms, theaters, community centers, private homes, outdoor events, and other venues. For outdoor performances, a covered performance area protected from direct sunlight, rain, and excessive wind is required.

Influences and inspiration
Mike’s earliest influence was Presto the Magic Clown (William Dopp), whose local television performances first sparked his fascination with magic. Later, Doug Henning’s sense of joy, wonder, and enthusiasm showed Mike that magic could be about more than fooling an audience—it could create a shared experience.
Growing up in the Louisville magic community, Mike was fortunate to learn from and be influenced by accomplished magicians including Harry Collins, Lance Burton, Mac King, David Garrard, Dr. Robert Escher, Larry Hibbs, Sherrell Nunnelly, Earl Bullard, Durbin Oldham, and Charles McGill (Sarito).
These performers helped shape Mike’s approach to magic: strong fundamentals, professionalism, comedy, storytelling, and respect for the audience.
Today, Mike continues to be influenced by performers who make the audience the most important part of the experience. His goal is to create the same joy and wonder that first made him fall in love with magic—and to pass that love of the art on to the next generation of magicians.
