About

I've traveled the world studying human behavior up close — reading people across cultures, in boardrooms and marketplaces alike. I'm Mike McAleer, founder of The Persuasion Edge, LLC in Pittsburgh, PA, and a behavioral influence speaker who brings the field home to the stage.

My foundation is more than 20 years in professional sales, where reading a room, spotting hesitation, and earning trust weren't academic exercises — they were how I won business. That real-world proving ground pushed me to go deeper: I've summited Mount Kilimanjaro, trained with The Body Language Academy (founded by FBI legend Joe Navarro), completed Harvard Business School's Negotiation Mastery program, earned NCI-1 Behavioral Observer and NCI-2 Behavioral Profiler certifications, and completed micro-expression training with the Paul Ekman Group (Micro Expressions, Micro Expressions Intensive, and Subtle Expressions).

My keynotes cover body language, negotiation, influence, behavioral science, and reading the room — built around vivid, field-tested stories gathered from my travels and decades in sales.

Audiences walk away able to read body language in real time, spot the micro-expressions people don't mean to show, negotiate with confidence, and influence outcomes in any conversation, culture, or boardroom.

Influences and inspiration

Mike's training draws on the work of leading behavioral experts, including former FBI agent Joe Navarro (through The Body Language Academy), Dr. Paul Ekman (through Paul Ekman Group micro-expressions certifications), and the negotiation faculty of Harvard Business School's Negotiation Mastery program.
