About
Michiko Inoue is a pianist and composer from Fukuoka, Japan. Having studied classical piano at the Yamaha Music School and Fukuoka Jogakuin High School, Michiko developed a love for jazz piano while attending the Fukuoka Women's Junior College. Michiko travelled to the U.S. for the first time in 2017 to attend the Berklee Five Week summer program. The prestigious College awarded her a scholarship in 2019 to study Jazz piano. During her time at Berklee, she studied with Joanne Brackeen, Pat Bianchi, Dave Santoro, Kevin Harris, Jason Yeager and Jon Hazilla. Michiko became an in-demand pianist on the Boston scene, with weekly performances at the city’s historic Wally’s Jazz Café and the Hobgoblin Bar. She moved to New York City in September 2024, and quickly picked up a busy performance schedule at venues like Tomi Jazz, Bar Moga and Swing 46. Michiko also performed at Carnegie Hall in 2025 along with winners of the Crescendo International Competition.
