Michael Wagner & Roots Band
Michael Wagner & Roots Band is a very talented young group that has touched the hearts of many people around the U.S. with their high-energy performance. Dubbed “Belize’s Hottest Band”, their original and distinct mixture of different cultural rhythms sets them apart from the rest. The Roots Band combines all flavors of music both in and out of the Caribbean.
Togethe...r for 17 years, the band has had much success. Michael Wagner & Roots band work in perfect harmony, off and on the stage. Their chemistry as a group is one of the reasons that they are the best around. Another characteristic of the Roots band is their ability to give the audience their money’s worth, by playing what they want, when they want it, and how they want it.
Very versatile, the band plays for all occasions and events, one of the most recent being a fundraiser party, “Shaqtacular”, for NBA 2000 World Champion Los Angeles Laker and MVP Shaquille O’Neal, who even jumped up on the bandstand with band and sang Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry”. As a testament to their growing popularity, the band has opened for numerous Los Angeles sports teams, such as the Los Angeles Dodgers’ baseball games, and also for the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center, the first home game of the (phone number hidden)1 season, against the Vancouver Grizzlies.
They have played for a lot of openings and important games for all sports, including the hockey team the L. A. Kings. A lot of the contacts that they have made in the sports world had been through the acclaimed firm IGC, Interactive Game Contacts. The Roots Band played at Lindsay Wagner’s, star of the Bionic Woman series, mansion for her birthday. The band has been commended for spectacular performances. Some of them are: the Caribbean Madness Family Day Festival, given by the California African American Museum; the Castaway, a restaurant and banquet center; and Miyagi’s, a restaurant on Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood. Michael Wagner and Roots Band opened for Byron Lee and the Dragonaires, the number one band in the Caribbean, at this year’s Caribbean Family Jump-Up and Concert at the Hollywood Park Casino. They made noise at the Gumbo Pot, an authentic New Orleans restaurant, for the City of Beverly Hills Summer Jam of ’99, at the Festival of Festivals International Stages in June 2000, and for Caricabela’s 3rd Los Angeles Carnival 2000. A favorite place to play at is Coley’s Caribbean-American Cuisine Restaurant in Inglewood, where the patrons welcome the sounds of Michael Wagner and Roots Band, as they are welcomed every where they go. Michael Wagner and roots band is still known as the number one band for his great performances.
Since the year 2000 to 2008 Michael Wagner and roots band has done amazing performances such as the Amgen Bicycle tour of California in 2006 the band played at seven different cities starting from San Francisco down to Redondo Beach.
