What to expect
I am ALWAYS punctual. I will arrive early to set up, so that when guests arrive, there are no other distractions. I use professional equipment suitable for small rooms up to larger outdoor gatherings.
I smile often, because let’s face it, music is fun! I’m a great judge of “the room”, so depending on age category, I will start with medium tempo songs that will surely be familiar to many! That also opens the floor for requests, which I love playing!
My sets will have songs that will span decades, often evoking humor, to keep the atmosphere light and refreshing! Rock, pop, country, jazz, r&b, classic soul…. I can drive the car where you want to go! Songs suitable for dance or rocking out!
About
I began playing at age 11. It became more of an obsession. I grew up singing and hearing traditional gospel, but my parents’ album collection had artists like The Eagles, Bread, The Guess Who, Dolly Parton, Elton John, Chet Atkins, The Beach Boys, The Ventures, and various rock and country albums. My influences are diverse: Django Reinhardt, The Who, The Beatles, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, The Police, Jeff Beck, The Eurythmics, Led Zeppelin etc…. I cover all of these styles!
Album credits:
Star Collector - “Songs for the Whole Family” (recorded with Bobby T Booker, touring pianist with Al Green at the time of recording)
Star Collector - “Live Collecting Stars”
Various - “Love in Song” a tribute to Paul McCartney “My Brave Face”
B’Shipe - “Happy” - bass and backing vocals
RokDok Music - 6 self released albums featured in the film “300” among other tv shows and series.
One of my original songs “Ordinary Day” was used in the independent film “Working Stiff” released out of Boston, Massachusetts.
I have performed solo, with jazz bands, rock bands, country bands, alternative bands, and metal bands.
I am also a guitar / bass instructor with 25 years teaching experience!
