For over a decade, Matt Walsh has built a national body of work through consistency, refinement, and a high level of creative control. With more than 1,400 performances across the country and over a decade of full-time professional experience in live entertainment, his work has grown from a touring act into a fully developed stage production shaped by years of live experience. From theaters and arenas to private events, galas, and luxury venues, the production has been presented in a wide range of settings across nearly every major U.S. market.

Each show reflects the standards of The Matt Walsh Company, a boutique entertainment house centered on presentation, discipline, and detail. Built around many of Michael Jackson’s best-known recordings, especially from his classic mid-1980s period, the production is shaped by original choreography, live improvisation, and Matt’s own instincts as a performer, giving each set a clear structure while still leaving room for personality, spontaneity, and live connection. Matt Walsh’s Michael Jackson repertoire is presented as a tribute show rather than an impersonation act, with the emphasis placed on concert-style performance, choreography, staging, Matt’s own authentic musicality and vocal timbre, and the reimagining and reinterpretation of the source material rather than character imitation.

Clients may choose from 30-, 45-, and 60-minute showcase sets, or the full 90-minute concert experience, which remains the most complete expression of the production. Matt Walsh is one of the few tribute artists in the country who regularly carries a full concert-length set at that scale, and it remains one of the clearest distinctions of his work. The longer format gives the show more room to open up, with greater range in pacing, musicality, staging, and audience build. Supporting that level of performance is a disciplined physical regimen, including training with a personal trainer in a professional facility to maintain stamina, shape, and control. During peak touring periods, Matt has trained 6–7 days a week and maintained a resting heart rate of approximately 42 bpm in order to carry the demands of a full concert-length set in costume.

The production itself is built with close attention to technical and artistic detail. Elements may include bespoke costuming, studio-produced backing tracks, immersive lighting, special effects, and the Smooth Criminal Anti-Gravity Lean. Matt Walsh is one of the few tribute artists in the country who tours with the Anti-Gravity Lean as part of a live production, and it remains one of the signature moments of the show. Backing tracks and custom edits are developed through The Matt Walsh Company recording studio and partner studios in Los Angeles, giving the show a strong level of musical consistency and control. The vocal approach is hybrid live, supported by Matt’s custom touring microphone, which is used across every production.

Costuming is one of the defining elements of the production. Matt Walsh does not cut corners on wardrobe, and the same standard applies here. For the main show, Matt Walsh uses a separate lightweight costume collection built for movement, durability, and reliability under stage conditions. These pieces have also been adapted for modular layering and quick changes, with select garments modified using Velcro and other performance-minded fixtures that allow transitions to happen cleanly and efficiently in real time. This design approach helps maintain the pacing, momentum, and visual anticipation of the show without relying on long interludes or unnecessary breaks in energy. Separate from the touring stage wardrobe, Matt Walsh also maintains a studio collection of artisan pieces reserved for select photography and VIP-facing experiences. Pieces are developed through an international coalition of designers, tailors, and specialty makers in the United States and abroad, including collaborators in Pakistan, Japan, the United Kingdom, Beverly Hills, and beyond. Depending on the piece, materials may include real leather, Swarovski and Austrian crystals, bugle beading, calfskin, sheepskin, deerskin, and even 14-karat gold detailing. Everything is tailored specifically to Matt’s unique proportions and built for movement, durability, and a strong visual finish under stage and studio lighting.

At select engagements, the experience may also extend beyond the performance itself. For clients placing equal value on guest experience and stage presentation, select engagements may also include curated post-show interaction, photography, and themed keepsakes or souvenirs tailored to the event. Post-show guest interaction is approached with the same level of care as the production itself.

For select engagements, Matt Walsh is also able to adapt the production to include background dancers. As a trained jazz dancer with years of experience building and leading ensemble-based performances, he can scale the show beyond the solo format when the occasion calls for it. Expanded productions are developed by arrangement and tailored to the event, venue, and overall presentation.

Matt Walsh is a national touring entertainer, producer, and creative director whose career bridges live performance, visual storytelling, and studio production. Long before he was touring nationally, he was a young cartoonist and animator, teaching himself drawing, early 2D animation, and CGI while developing the creative instincts that would later shape his eye for movement, detail, and presentation.

As a teenager, live entertainment moved from the background of his life to the center of it. Matt had been performing from a young age, but never set out to build a career in live entertainment. After months of back and forth with classmates, he reluctantly agreed, almost as a dare, to perform a Michael Jackson song at a school dance as an impromptu surprise, expecting it to be little more than a party trick. The reaction from the broader community quickly changed the direction of his life. Within weeks, paid bookings were already being made on his behalf and, at the young age of 14, he had entered the professional event world, performing at corporate events, galas, and other high stakes engagements. At the time, Matt had no meaningful prior exposure to Michael Jackson’s work and therefore never had the opportunity to develop the kind of gradual, organic relationship to the material that a fan typically would. He had never studied Michael’s short films or listened closely to the catalogue and was forced to catch up quickly in order to meet the demands of live bookings already coming in. Formal dance and theater training followed, and over time, his work expanded beyond tribute material and into original music and choreography. He later studied Theater Arts at Stetson University before leaving to pursue the music industry full time, building his own recording studio and expanding into production, directing, engineering, vocal work, film, and other entertainment services.

Between 2021 and 2024, Matt was a featured performer at two successful entertainment residencies in the Orlando market, a period that became one of the most demanding and productive stretches of his career. At the height of that run, he performed more than 300 show dates in 2022 alone, sharpening the stamina, consistency, and performance discipline required at that level. Outside of those residencies, between late 2023 and early 2024, he also began running an independent proof of concept across markets including Atlanta, Miami, Tampa, and Orlando, further refining his stagecraft, client experience, and overall production standards while laying the groundwork for a larger independent operation.

In 2024, that multidisciplinary foundation led to the launch of The Matt Walsh Company as a fully independent production house, headquartered in Orlando with hub operations in New York City, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. Formed in the wake of dissatisfaction with outside management, the company became Matt’s way of reclaiming control of the show and producing it properly under his own direction in time for the 10th anniversary of his live entertainment career. By that point, mismanagement and overly narrow branding from outside management had increasingly boxed Matt into an impersonator label within the Orlando market, despite years of presenting material beyond the Michael Jackson repertoire and recording and releasing original music from his studio. The association had become so strong that local audiences increasingly expected Michael Jackson from him almost exclusively, making other material harder to present on its own terms and, at times, blurring the boundary between Matt as a private person and Matt as a public performance trigger. The 10th Anniversary Project was Matt’s way of addressing, head-on and once and for all, a chapter of his career with which he had long had a complicated relationship, and of bringing it to a more graceful close. Under that banner, he rebuilt and relaunched the Michael Jackson Tribute Show as a national tour, developing an in house infrastructure that included regional hub support, costume storage, logistics coordination, production investment, and greater control over how the show was built and presented from city to city.

During the 2024–2025 North American Tour, Matt brought the production into major markets across the United States, with repeated stops in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, and the DMV alongside a wider footprint spanning roughly 40 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. He concluded the 18 month run independently, without a manager, publicist, promoter, booking agent, or viral social media engine behind it. During this period, he became a go to choice for private clients, corporate events, luxury venues, theaters, casinos, and celebrity adjacent engagements, performing for high profile audiences in some of the country’s most competitive event markets, including work connected to major corporations and Fortune 500 environments.

The same tour also gave him the freedom to expand into a wider range of private engagements, from luxury weddings, anniversaries, and milestone birthdays to even the rare children’s party, which he has described as among the most wholesome and memorable experiences of his career. A consistent part of Matt’s philosophy has been bringing the same level of care, production value, and thoughtfulness to a private celebration that he would bring to a theater or arena stage.

The tour also gave full expression to the broader technical side of his background. In addition to performing, Matt remained closely involved in the behind the scenes presentation of the show, applying his experience in production, directing, and stagecraft while coordinating with lighting, sound, and effects teams and continuing to invest toward in house production elements such as lighting, fog, and sound equipment through The Matt Walsh Company. His work during this period also led to collaborations with some of the industry’s top musicians, vocalists, dancers, engineers, and creative professionals, including artists and performers with credits spanning the Grammys, the Emmys, NBCUniversal, Broadway, the NFL, the NBA, World of Dance, and America’s Got Talent. At select engagements, Matt also opened for major recording artists and contributed to high profile charitable events connected to significant fundraising efforts. Even as it marked one of the most substantial periods of growth in his career, it also became a chapter he was still learning how to feel proud of by the end of the run.

Today, Matt is known for combining the instincts of a cartoonist, the discipline of a stage performer, and the standards of a producer into one polished, high end live experience. Across more than a decade of live performance, Matt’s work has reached hundreds of thousands of audience members in person, with additional online visibility extending into the millions. Despite building a successful national touring business, Matt has chosen, and still chooses, to maintain a relatively low public profile in both the press and on social media, deliberately avoiding social media trends, heavy publicity, and sustained press coverage. Through The Matt Walsh Company, he continues to deliver boutique entertainment for clients who value presentation, professionalism, and a strong sense of occasion.

As of 2026, Matt Walsh is currently appearing on the farewell tour of the Michael Jackson Tribute Show, with select dates and limited availability as he begins closing out this chapter of his career and shifting his focus toward new creative work under The Matt Walsh Company.
